I HAVE NO CORAL GROWTH!

I did make a light change though. Ill see how much difference the prime makes (if any).

ugh this is so disappointing to hear. I wanted to make this nano the best it could possibly so it could excel, not fail.

I have a 60g (no coral- just my rhinopias) running now with absolutely no form of equipment on the tank besides a light, heater, and two power heads. maybe I'll just hook this sump up to that tank and see if I see a difference.

You don't need a skimmer for a tank that small with no fish. I have three tanks with no skimmers. I don't have a lot of fish, but I feed them and the corals heavily. I do water changes every two to three weeks or sooner if needed (during which I vacuum the sand, clean the power heads, heater, etc.).

Your light should grow some corals, but I have found that acros, in particular, seem to need a light with UV capabilty to really thrive. My gen 3 Radion does grow acros, but I have found that they grow faster with better color under a T5 (and probably even more so with a metal halide, but I have not tried the latter). Someday, when I get a better camera, I will post pics.

that's why I still do my WC to replace trace and normally feed very heavy.

yep, I agree with you there, sps will always get more colorful and grow better under T5s.

I did have this nub explode (this is 1.5months growth and coloration) but I had to move him and he slowed right back down.

78, doesn't swing, the tank is not by any windows, heater is a 50W cobalt neotherm.

yeah, I like kessils but I wouldn't trust a 160, and a 360 would look so big haha.

I've seen great results from the AI prime. anyone running one?

I'd do the 160 or the prime over that tank. I like both from what I've seen. Like the controllability with the built in wifi of the prime so that would be my choice

apparently not.

was doing some more research about upgrading the lights. found out AI primes only put out about 250 PAR at the surface, 12" up. that's pretty pathetic.

so, back to an xr15 or the new hydra26 HD. I don't know how I feel about hydras, I'm such a radion fanatic, but they put out major PAR for a lot less money.
