+1 on pulling LR and dunking in 5gal bucket of RODI and violently swishing the LR for 30 seconds (even with corals attached)

I've done that with smaller LR and you wouldn't believe the amount of ×%=+ is left behind in the RODI bucket.

My problem is most of my LR are huge LR that won't fit inside a 5gal bucket

Well,
The time I had really bad GHA, it's was confined to my old Live Rock.
You could not detect phos. with kits because it was bound up the the GHA and not free floating in the water column.

Took an gamble and started to tumble GFO in it's own reactor.

The GHA was gone in a matter of weeks and it has never returned.

My old live rock was leaching phos, just like untreated dry rock.

GFO tumbling junkie ;Wacky, over here, but you need to start off with an very low dose.
