Always happens, accumulation of stuff that needs outlets. I have the 2016 apex, so only 8 outlets. For example I have 4 mp40s, What I was thinking I could do is plug 2 of my mp40s in one outlet, so two outlets gone. I have the skimz sm251, has two pumps, so both in one outlet. Can I just double up outlets like that? Or is that not wise, should I just bite the bullet and buy another eb32?

Put all your mp’s on 1 outlet, returnpump and skimmer pump on another, heaters all on 1, ect.

I dont worry about overloading one socket. Think about programming instead.

I use 4 of these in my bar with no issues. And one socket has another bar in it. And thats full. Treat each socket on the bar like a socket in my house is what I was told. Again i have a different brand but i dont believe they are much different.

Oh really, I can run that many things on one outlet? Well I have to keep in mind “feed mode”, need certain things to turn off when I hit feed mode, some longer than others.

Just get another EB8, much safer and used one can be had for less than a hundred. Besides you can run it from separate circuit (if available) Except for small pumps or powerheads, running multiple heaters on a single outlet will cause damage or fire. Each outlet has its rating listed on the label with the whole strip rated at 15A I believe. If you are running that I hope you have a dedicated circuit or it will all go poof.

Thats why its a power bar. Its made to do this. I dont exactly understand the power distribution science. Ive just been taught this by people here when i was setting up. Have a look in first link in signature.

I do not have a dedicated circuit, I talked to a family friend about making one dedicated circuit amped up to 20. Haven’t gotten around to it, pretty crucial?

I wouldn’t double up the heaters. That could easily overwhelm the amperage.
I would put the mps on a strip and plug that in. To use one outlet.
Heater should have separate outlets
And return should have its own. You will use the return status to shutoff things like uv, manifold , skimmer etc.

Hope this helps. Maybe list the equipment out to get better idea.

But best idea maybe to get another relay

Thanks. Ill do that. I ran all winter that way in my other house. Since ive been here in the new house ive only needed one running. But its sound advice. I am on a dedicated circuit, not sure if its 15 or 20. I think its on 20 here but 15 at the old house.

MP40 x4
Vectra L1
300watt heater
Algae scrubber
Skimmer (2 pumps)
Neptune feeder
Doser
Light
Tablet
Eventually avast marine swabbie and locker
I’m pretty sure there are a couple things I’m forgetting...

1. All mp 40s
2. Heater
3. Both skimmer outlets - swabbie will be extension for this. So no worries
4. Return pump , algae scrubber.
5. Doser
6. Lights
7. Feeder
8. Swabbie

Don’t connect to apex.
1. Tablet.
2. Feeder
3.

Good luck

I meant locker would be a float switch. Which you will code to control skimmer outlet. So no outlet needed
