Not sure I follow... The outlet will be 110v no matter how many devices are plugged into it. 220v requires a 220v outlet and also more wiring in the background, etc.

I think he is saying would be cool if each individual outlet on the wall, was 110v so combined it would be able to handle 220.

I ended up picking up another EB32 from a member....I don’t want to be constantly looking for an outlet to plug another device into...

I need a eb32, harder to come by used.

Why does it have to be an eb832? I have the 2016 apex with a single 832 and three eb8s off my old system. Unless its absolutely necessary to monitor your electrical consumption or run more WAV's than you already have a standard EB8 works just fine.

Ehh, doesn’t need to be. I was given a very fair price on the 32, so I’ll pay a few extra dollars just to have one brand new. And matching....I’m a bit materialistic, when it comes to fish gear. In everyday life I wear the same shirt three days a week and turn my boxers inside out every other (saves me money to buy more reef gear...)

You are correct that two 110s equal a 220. But if you pull 220 off of one leg of the main panel (jumping two outlets together as suggested), without an opposing sine wave you will damage the end product as well as overheat the wiring in the house causing a fire.... One of the many reasons states and cities require certified electricians to to wire things up for you. Running two components on the single outlet isnt a problem unless they draw more amperes than the outlet is rated for. Most of our tank components draw very few amps and in most cases you could run several items on a single outlet without problems.

Find things that will always need to be on and will only be on a timer and put them on a gfci power strip and put some timers on it if you need to
