That looks like a sturgeon in the foreground. USFWS is definitely going to need to see your permits...

Coz I wanted to test it out and see if they’d make it from China to America.
money is no object, an animals well being is below that! ship it on the slowest boat you have from China please, Im running an experiment!!

I hope this is a troll, or they are scamming fish sales, it can't be a fun trip for anything living in a bag of water..... sad face emoji!!

I ordered some fish from China without a permit. I don’t know what is going to happen. Does anyone have experience with this? Is the fish going to get seized and killed? Am I going to get in trouble?
If its drop ship- youre ok - they handle the export but you may get a surprise bill/request for tarrifs

It's genuinely shocking to me that someone who cares so little about animal welfare and wellbeing would take the time to set up a reef tank. Genuinely shocking.
Lol I don’t remember asking, maybe before spending time on this you should spend time on that cat u have. He looks pretty sad in that pfp

It was probly a scam they haven’t said anything to me lately

I would try to cancel your order. You'll need a permit to import fish. I also wouldn't risk it, chances are that you'll get either low quality or dead fish ordering from China, if you even get them at all. There is no commercial collection of fish from the PRC that I know of, so you'll be getting fish from Indonesia. They'll already have been stressed (and many of them killed) by international shipping, and chances are they'll be drop shipped to you without even being taken out of their original packaging. I would expect only a very low survival rate.

I don't recommend hobbyists importing fish for themselves, but if you do, try to get them from Australia. Aussie shippers know what they're doing, and will send healthy fish directly to you.

I would also question the ethics of importing fish from China just because they're cheaper. Cheaper does not equal better in this hobby, especially when it comes to living things. Especially without doing proper research into permitting and what you're doing. It also won't be at all cost effective. You may get fish at half the price, but given that it'll take half a dozen tries to get a live/healthy fish and you'll have to pay permitting/shipping costs, it isn't worth it. Also, the chances of them taking your money and running are fairly high. That happens a lot when you order cheap things from China. It's like when you order from Wish or Alibaba. You're probably not going to get anything, and if you do, it won't be what you ordered or it'll be broken (in the case of fish, broken means dead). If you want cheap and are prepared to deal with unhealthy/low quality fish, get fish from your local Petco.

*edit*

Don't use the emergency tag for stuff like this. Emergencies are when your fish break out in velvet or the front pane of glass falls off, not when you order from China by mistake. Thank you!

The importing of live tropical fish into the United States is of concern to two federal agencies: U.S. Customs, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife. U.S. Customs is concerned with any item of value which is being shipped into the U.S. Each item (or the total of a shipment) must have a dollar value declared. This agency has a list of various things which are subject to duties (taxes). Live tropical fish are not--at least not in the quantities by which I have imported them. However, I have had to pay a $9.00 processing fee and fill out a couple of forms in order to clear Customs.

The second agency, U. S. Fish & Wildlife, will demand more (in dollars and in time) from the hobbyist who wants to import fish. Technically, if an individual will be bringing in eight or more wild-caught fish (not species), the shipment will be subject to an inspection with an inspection fee. Actually, the agency does not have to physically inspect the shipment, but they must clear it in writing. The importer must pay the fee regardless. If any of the fish are to be sold, bartered, or traded (i.e., not for the sole personal use of the person importing them), then that person must obtain an importer's license.

Wdym dropship? Like the seller has permits n stuff? And why would there be surprise charges?
Are you aware of drop shipping and what it entails?
Ordering fish via dropship and huge discounts with risk is such a thing and generally originates from overseas and sent to a receiving point in US for repack and inspection and forwarded to recipient

Have any of you ever ordered anything from China ?!?!? I have !!! And the fastest I got something was 2 weeks. In what world is any fish gunna live the journey from China ?
Agree which raises a red flag especially if not a drop shipped order

Literally this whole thread is you asking what's going to happen, are the fish going to die, will you get into trouble, using the emergency tag.
