iam loose fish bad

ok got it even my wife says leave that dam tank a lone .
i will let it get dirty and raise the ph and low ammonia....yes
NO ammonia, not just low ammonia but NO ammonia and the only way you will get that is by cycling the tank. You have your answer as to why your fish died. You should get off this thread and start reading the suggested material on cycling a tank and basically start over. Also research test kits and what the rock in your tank is actually there for. It's not to look pretty, it's there to serve a vital function of filtration.

I hope I'm not being too blunt about the way I have put things.

you r right i my bad got mistup

Regardless, This tank is not cycled. Please take the fish out until you have cycled the tank properly. No one here is trying to insult you here but something is going on with that tank if you say it's 8 plus months old. Figure THAT out before you add fish again.

I believe what is at the heart of that is his desire to make the tank too clean. When I started my garden pond, I was scrubbing the sides and doing water changes. Went through 6 fish dying before I found out that a clean pond is a deadly pond.

That makes perfect sense. He's basically scrubbing cleaning away all the beneficial bacteria and the tank is never cycling.

I had the same issue as you when I started my garden pond. I wanted it to be pristine with no algae and no bugs and to look brand new all the time so I used algaecides and scrubbed the sides and did water changes and it looked great. It also killed every goldfish I put in there within days. I finally learned to leave it alone and let it do its thing and now I have a beautiful pond that I love with goldfish I have had for years. You are not the only person who has fallen in the too clean trap. Someone explained it to me like this and it finally got through. You a recreating an ecosystem, and an ecosystem needs the ugly parts for the beautiful parts to thrive.

You are very welcome and I hope this tank turns out as beautiful as your love for it clearly is.

how do i get it Dirty rocks from fish store
Add a live rock from the LFS. That's a rock that has been sitting in a tank or straight from the ocean with microbes and algae and the other stuff. It will be ugly. Then just go through the cycle without scrubbing anything but the front glass of the tank. It will get dirty on its own.

Don't need to buy them. Just allow your tank to go through the normal biological processes.

Read up on cycling and take it slow. Your rock will start to change color all it's own. You will also go through several phases of algae growth as well. All normal on your way to a healthy tank.

Please keep reading and asking questions. Everyone here wants to see another successful hobbyist but it all takes time and plenty of research

Good luck and hang in there

i will ......wont like see all the green but if i have to i will just deal with it
thank you

Biospira will give your cycle a jolt as well. I agree 2.0 ppm ammonia is very dangerous. A tank ready for fish should show zero ammonia and ideally no nitrite. Nitrate is a sign that your cycle is beginning to work. Only add after the other two are zero.
