ive noticed these white spots on my tang today and dont know but i feel like it is ich if it is whats the best way to get rid of it

@Humblefish can i get your inside on this or maybe from [HASHTAG]#ReefSquad[/HASHTAG]

Add metroplex to this. Add you frozen food and the focus binds the med , vitamins, amino acids to the food. You can also do a fresh water dip with cupramine. Do you have a quarantine tank?

I don't have a qt if but if I have to set one up I will tomorrow so I get all those bottles plus metroplex and it'll take care of my issue?

I suspect that is far worse than ich if you can grab the tang that way and it looks as it does. Humble will be here shortly I'm sure.

Well he was sleeping and he's always let me pick him up at night time
Sorry to be frank but I wouldn't be handling my fish unless absolutely mission critical. Especially when sick with parasites, damaging and removing slime coat and stressing them out with handling will be very counter productive.

I hope she pulls through though, I love hippo tangs!

That's not ich, but I do think I see some HLLE starting around the face. And possibly Lympho nodules at the end of the tail. Hippo tangs can be hard to diagnosis because they get splotchy just from stress. But if you're handling the fish often, that could actually be the reason why the skin looks so scuffed up. It's best to use latex, nitrile or rubber gloves when handling a fish; direct human skin contact can be abrasive.

Below is a photo of a Hippo tang with ich for comparison purposes.

I don't believes it has hlle but possibly the lympho and that's what I though woulda been ich but here's day time pics sorry for the bad camera pics

Probably just Lympho... but I'd be more sure after seeing a closeup photo of the growths.
I'll be able to get a close up tonight but if it is lympho how would I go about curing it and is it deadly?

Can't tell much from the other pictures, but in that first one I do see what could be the beginnings of HLLE on the face. If she doesn't look like that normally, then well, I would say dont touch her anymore. I agree about lymph being a possibility. Better pics are needed though. :)

I don't normally touch the fish I just did this time cause I was seeing the spots on the fish

+1 ON the freshwater dip. There are tons of fourms on here about it. started doing it for 5 mins to all my fish and havent had an outbreak since. Make sure your water is free of chlorine. i airate my tap water for about 48 hours and then match the temps. Good luck!

We don't usually recommend doing FW dips with Tap water. RO/DI is ideal, though tap will work with a dechlorinator in a pinch.
