That was some good reading.
I'm still open to suggestion but I think we found the problem. I'm just wondering how po4 got so high. There's not a large bioload in this tank.
Shouldnt my macro algae thriving?

The rise could be numerous things. Just keep it in check and keep up with wc.
I still think sending your water away to be lab tested may be worth the $.

yes, I would think your macro should be thriving. Yes, is there an update?

A refractometer can go bad? I'd like to know more about that.
I had one that was off by 4 points even after it was calibrated so u can't go wrong with double checking your test results over the last 3 years I also had 2 bad test kits that tell you what u want to hear so u take that answer because u like it and go without double checking. Same thing go for probes if u don't calibrate them ones a year and clean them often you will get bad readings

I have two refractometers and they both read the same. I haven't had a chance to test today but I looked at the poly pad and it turned a slight tinge of light blue. I put a bunch of chato in the fuge to see what happens. I did 10% yesterday and plan on doing another one tomorrow.

I have thriving macros but also cannot keep coral alive. My phophates are very high as well as nitrates. Fish are great though. I am fixing all that with my new tank build with reactors and better rock. My current rock is source unknown and I believe the main source of my high phosphates.
