IM Nuvo EXT 100 SPS2020 Build

That piece of mdf and the cam locks is the “shelf kit” that IM includes if you choose to instal it!

Yepper, that's the ticket; thanks! I thought that was an option, but it seems they include it now.

How have you/are you plumbing the pipes in the overflow box? IM calls it bean animal but I have been researching bean animal and it has the u bend pipes on the ends of the straight primary and secondary drain pipes.

I haven't gotten to that point yet. Increasing my manifold to 1" and ordering parts today from BRS...so that has consumed some of my time. Also, plan to go ahead and incorporate a 40 watt UV while I'm doing all the plumbing. Initially, I was going to use a portable UV (green killing machine), but decided to plumb it now while access is the easiest.

Here is a decent article on overflows if you haven't seen it. I'll probably run with it like IM instructs and see what issues (if any) arise.

Are the side panels of your stand doors like the one in this build?
I wonder if IM started changing the stand for the 100?

@SPS2020 how far are you leaving it off the wall. I know with the EXT you have to leave it some, but not sure how far. 6" or 12" past the EXT box. Thank you for any advise.

Ironically, I was just thinking about that last night. I'll have an answer and update you over the weekend as many plumbing parts and an Aqua Ultraviolet Classic Inline UV Sterilizer (57 Watt) arrive tomorrow, hopefully. The UV will reside under the manifold and I am not sure how far out it will be away from the stand. Ideally, it will be no further than 6" as I would like it as close to the load bearing wall as possible. I did not reinforce floor joists.

Worked on the tank a bit over the last couple of days. Here are a few shots.

Up first is the new UV...

Awesome job! What size pvc are you using for the return? I might have to steal your plumbing for the uv steralizer.

Thanks! 1" for the pump and manifold, then 3\4" on the two returns.

6" was the magic number (for me). I wanted to go out another inch, but there is a tray ceiling in the master which prevented me from moving it further. Otherwise the lights would not be in the center of the tank.

One of my dislikes about the stand is that the doors have no restraint system and will hit the edge of the stand and make a mark\scratch on the front door if allowed to swing freely.

Stand pipes cut...one was way too long.

@SPS2020 you fit the fitting IM sent you through the EXT and through the back and then glue the 3/4 pipe into it correct? Or did you glue it into thread and then screw the unions on. just want to be sure as it seems if I glue the they are perm. as they go through the overflow.

Those are slip bulkheads. You glue pipe directly into them. The threads are only for the nut to tighten it to the tank! Do not attempt to screw a fitting onto the outside thread of a bulkhead. It will not fit and it will leak! You should watch this video before plumbing:

@garyfri As mentioned above by @inifinite0180, the bulkheads are 3\4" slip on both sides. So there are two separate pvc pipes for each; one is inserted from the overflow and the other from below.
