what you are attempting is requested by hundreds of tankers and a few that have posted here, extreme speed cycling. had to create another designation as speed cycling was already bringing up fully dry rocks to workable digestion (a few ppm to zero in 24 hours after dosing) within about 2-3 weeks max. this was using any bottle bac and repeated ammonia digestion testing to ensure its a constant, and not just a result of adding bac to the water column. Extreme speed cycling therefore is deemed adding the fish and the tank and the substrate and the bottle bac all at once, I think this might even be faster than the show tanked heh at least they are using some pre aged stuff
I still cannot judge however, its merely a question of compounds. strong advice comes from the seasoned reefer who advises taking time and working out tank variables before delicate life is in tow. on the counter, there are times where people can't or wont do that, and to know how it turns out isn't bad science its just someone elses rat in a cheese maze for us to read on, nothing harsh from me. id suggest using whatever aquacultured fish you can find heh to avoid anarchy. I don't view goldfish in bowls at fairs as particularly mean, nor the mouse I trapped last year who didn't make it, and to be fair anything they are mass producing for reefs is now in the same boat, again I expect to be alone in this venture it feels weird lol. let the record stand that of 100% of reefers, only 1.8% would recommend extreme speed cycling, .2% wouldn't judge ya for having tried using not wild life, and 98% reco to go slower
the only way to know if an ammonia alert badge can work as the test bench you have to locate threads where its reading was x referenced to something like salifert or hanna. the 98% wants to make sure even trace readings of ammonia aren't there for the test to be true, and they'll want it tested daily after addition to see if the bac keeps up
