Ion Director delayed again

Grass ain't greener for those freaking out over this.
No it's not greener! I would love to have Nitrate and Sodium and overall I think that the Ion Director will be a superior product but I am not willing to wait an endless amount of time to get something.

When I hear words like Spring, Summer and Autumn etc. it tells me they really have no idea when its going to be coming out. When I hear the words redesign and beta testing again that makes me scratch my head. I thought they had all the other components already made?

When I hear crap like I lose my place in the line if I want a refund, it tells me that they did not value the fact that I lent them $764 for four months. The worst possible part is waiting that long and then hearing about another delay. Then the rational of "oh well I waited 12 months, I can wait two more" kicks in.

I'm not either. But people that paid may not be working right now. They might decide they need that money.
It’s more likely if folks arn’t working they already canceled their order if they needed the money. I know that’s what I would have done.

Yeah, but this may just push them to if they were on the fence about it.

Of course you loose your place in line as you should, you pulled out. If you’re in line at a movie theater and you get out, the line starts to move, do you expect to be welcomed back where you where? What about, how that makes the people that where behind you feel? Those people stayed in line and endured the wait. They didn’t stomp off complaining. They deserve their new earned spot.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. I have the P4 and two mitras lx7's. I'm very happy with them. And I'm looking forward to the ION director. Just didn't expect to wait almost a year.

None of us did. Also none of us expected a world wide pandemic when we preordered. Stuff happens.

So if the movie theater sells you premier tickets for a movie coming out next Friday and you pay in advance for your tickets and then the theater says oh so sorry but the movie won't be coming out for another 5-7 months. I would expect a refund and a guarantee that because they screwed up they will offer me some kind of compensation! Is a guarantee that you still have the first option at getting the premier date seats you had paid for to much to ask for?

It's called customer service and it's designed to keep customers doing business with you in the future.

The Airlines do this stuff all the time. They cancel a flight and they pay for your hotel and get you on the next flight. They oversell the seats and they give you a free flight. I had that happen once. They asked if anybody was willing to give up their seat for a young couple that was trying to catch a connecting flight. I gave up my seat and got a cash rebate equal to the value of my ticket plus kept my ticket to fly the next day.

Honestly I don't give a crap if GHL is trying to hold people in line with this tactic. I am sure that they are going to have a lot of extra units for sale come December or whenever.
How many products have you paid for in full and then waited an extra year to receive them?

This is a bad argument. Apples to oranges.

You pull your money out of any investment and it gains in value the next day. You don’t get the gain. You only get back your investment value the day you removed your money. On the plus, if GHL folds tomorrow you saved your money and we suffer.

And this is the last time I’m going round and round with you. You’re allowed your opinion and I just happen to disagree.

No problem! Most of you guys are already invested in the GHL Eco system so it makes sense for you to stay. I am not so l have no reason to put up with a super long delay.

I think if you ordered direct from GHL USA, you will get the notification cuz they have your email address. If you order through online retailer (like I did), you likely wont get update emails notifications from GHL... so i just subscribed through the link posted by @Gaël. Thanks!

Not so. I ordered and paid for two in full last year and didn’t get a notification, hence why I asked the question.

Edit: just to say I’m not upset. These are unprecedented times. Just wanted to check I wasn’t missed of a list of folks who’d paid

There are several references in this thread to a "full year" delay, and one intimating a 14 month delay from payment to delivery. Just for the sake of accuracy the pre-orders began 5 December 2019 and ended 31 January 2020. Anyone who pre-ordered was clearly told that the first units were scheduled to ship on 31 March 2020. That shipping date now being moved until "Autumn" would make the delay approximately 5/6 months.

Sept 20 or so is the first day of autumn. so...Jan 31 to Sept 20 adds up to 8 months by my math. I seriously doubt anyone will be seeing the Director at the end of Sept. Yeah, closer to a year.

I am going to wait but I am concerned that they are completely missing Summer and going for Autumn.

The improvements they have mentioned don't sound like the sort of thing that requires a completely ground-up development. I hope they are not needing things to get back to normal so they can make enough money over Summer to supply these in Autumn...

I take it you didn't pass math in school? Sept 20 or so is the first day of autumn. so...Jan 31 to Sept 20 adds up to 8 months by my math. I seriously doubt anyone will be seeing the Director at the end of Sept. Yeah, closer to a year.

Putting aside the irony of making your own spelling mistake while rushing to insult me about my maths, I’m not sure there’s much to be gained by being insulting. It can only reflect poorly on you.

Turning to your calculations, you base your ‘8 months’ maths on your own idea that delay time starts running from 31 January 2020. That is a false analysis. The earliest date the ION Director was shipping was 31 March 2020 (see my post and the GHL post I linked to). Delaying that shipping to September makes...6 months. Which is what I said.

I will not address the second round of maths you have engaged in to take 8 months to ‘a year’. Clearly, someone cannot be expected to address a calculation based not on facts but on a writer’s speculation that has been retrospectively inserted to justify a prior calculation.

The pre-orders ended 31-Jan, but everyone was told that the first shipment wasn't going to be until 31-Mar. As you stated, autumn starts 20-Sep. so the time frame Matt quoted was correct at 5 months and 20 days. So if shipped on 20-Sep. that is less than 6 months.

You all are grasping at straws. I said they will have had my money for 12 months. I ordered mine on day one!
So they got my money on Dec 5th 2019 and based on their new timeline I would not receive my unit until Dec 2020 or most likely beyond that. So that is 12 months that they would have had my money. And are you people forgetting that Autumn ends on Dec 21st?
