Is my anemone dying?

My nems are happy down at 150 and up at 300.

Why do so many people feel the need to tell everyone else that they can’t keep a nem? Is it some exclusive club?

This is mine, put in my tank at 3 weeks... 3 months later, doing great. I suppose someone can tell me the serial number of the cell phone used to take the picture just by looking eh?

I never said he could not keep, but said it was unhealthy. I suggested he give it to someone else with an established tank to better take care of it until his tank becomes more established. His rock and sand do not look like that of a 7 month old tank. I too have added anemones to much newer tanks but they were set up with fully cycled and aged live rock and live sand. They never even cycled, but they still were not fully established. Man made and dry rock take that much longer to become established and stable.

By no means was I trying to form a Lynch mob I’m not that kind of guy at all but by posts and pictures I and among other the assumption that’s the light isn’t sufficient to raise a anemone. If I’m wrong I’ll eat crow all day long and humbly back off. My concern is if people are going to get into reef keeping I’m all for it if you can’t affod then top of the top equipment I get it but please ask and research the animals you are going to keep. Ask here ask anyone anything. Animals die for lack of knowledge all the time it’s never ending

Took some time but it looks better and upgrading lights. I have the money to spend on equipment I just enjoy diy

Like I have this ready but my diy skimmer has been putting in work, will test parameters later tonight

Anyone ever try diy lights for anemone
10k white 450 actinic blues?
30 white 15 blue led
Would that work?

Oh that’s because I added another 30 lbs of sand recently that’s why it looks it looks fresh.
I will be upgrading lighting though. I’m going to buy a mh setup today to put over the nem until I figure out led.
So has anyone done diy led for anemone?
From my little understanding 10k white and 450 actanic blue would work?

You can probably buy a pair of black boxes off of amazon for cheaper than you can build a sufficient light. You can also step up to some Ocean Revive lights which are a little nicer.

If you’re looking for something low cost, I would check the selling forum on here. Instead of getting a new low cost fixture, you can get a higher quality fixture for a low cost.

Well what is cheaper to start out until I get everything. Not going lie I got my entire setup for under $100 including the skimmer and canister so haha this hobby blew out of proportion before I realized it

BTAs do wierd things. Factors that affect bta and other anemones are:
Lighting- low white , high blues
Salinity- 1.025-1.027
Water flow- moderate
Feeding- meaty such as mysis 2-3x per week

That question depends on the versions. There are different versions with different lenses. Do you have the details on them?

So I’ve been using mostly led. Little u understanding of fixtures. Would a 40w Aqueon light fixture work with a t5 actinic blue?
If I supplemented a coralife t5 for a week would that work
