Hi. Its a sad day for me. I think my ricordea is dying. He hasn't been happy for weeks now. I don't know why. Everything else is great! Im really not sure what I did wrong... Ill attach pics in order of from when I first got it and the rest are from the last two days...so sad.

That doesn't look good :(

I find that most types of mushrooms don't like direct light, it may be too late but I would suggest moving it to a slightly less intense location.

How are your water parameters?

Looks like its not happy where it is... I have a similar looking recordia and it likes lower light. Like under the shadow of a rock. They should be able to move on their own, I don't know why it is having trouble getting around. Either it has noticed its on an island and can't traverse the sand, or someone glued his food to the plug. Try moving the plug under a shaded area and see if it doesn't puff back up just fine.

It does look like it's on its way out, how long was it before it started looking like that? Along with water parameters, has anything else changed in the last few weeks in your system before it went down hill?

Ricordea are not very mobile, they can move small distances (when laying down babies) but not like anemones can. I'd say start with maybe less light, mine always like more diffused light.

Looks like the Yumas I have in my tank. They prefer hanging out under overhangs and shadier areas. Try placing it in a shaded area. Once established, they are very hardy, and it looks like yours was getting too much light.

Ok, bad pic, but he has been relocated to the back corner with very low light.. He has only started getting really bad yesterday. But he hasn't looked happy in a couple of weeks. I've moved him around the tank to see where he would be happy, but nothing seemed to make him puff back up. Nothing in my tank has ever bit the dust, and everything looks great!

I DO believe someone glued his foot. ...

Looks ****** but will come back. I had worst come back
Gosh, I hope so! When I look at the pictures of what it used to look like, I just wanna cry.. Yesterday I was saying, oh god, I killed it! I was considering taking it back to my fish guy and giving it to him for free, just to help it! And I would have, if he didn't live so far away... Like an hour and a half drive. I've never had anything die on me... I hate the idea I might kill something... :(

And something that is about to change.... I really have no shade in my tank. . Design flaw on my part. But Im about to add a big paly rock Friday, so ill make a shelf of sorts for things that need low light... My bad...

The Yuma actually looks okay in that last pic. Just keep him there and, if you have any, feed some coral frenzy or other broadcast coral food. I think he's going to pull through if you keep him there. Your pH is a little low, btw.

Yea they'r fighters. It'll break free eventually but it needs to be located somewhere else. It should recover just fine. What's funny is whenever mine get stressed they move around and leave babies everywhere. Babies are slow growers though.

Lucky! They babies in my tank are ridiculous. I started with three polyps and last count was over 30. When they catch hold, you'd better watch out because they will be everywhere!
:)

*A comment about someone gluing it's foot down

I really don't think that's the case. Glue doesn't work on corals like this, they produce too much mucous and separate from the glue very quickly. If you've ever tried gluing a mushroom or similar coral right on the base you know it doesn't work at all. I think it has a shot at pulling through, just make sure everything stays stable and give it time in its new spot before moving it again.

Maybe just a little more time for light acclimation. From the xenia in the pic it looks like your water flow is low to moderate which is good.

Have you thought about raising your pH any?

Its my toadstools polyps you see in the pic. I know my ph is low... I just had a major freak out about it, but Im unsure of how to safely raise it. .. :/

Ok cool... Learn something new everyday... If he was so unhappy, why didn't he just let go and move? I kept waiting on him to go somewhere liked, but he never did... Id love to have babies!

Another note about my ph. I've thought seriously about dripping Kalkwasser and even bought the stuff to do it, but I read that if you stop, your ph just returns to where it was...
