Is my ricordea dying?

Ok cool... Learn something new everyday... If he was so unhappy, why didn't he just let go and move? I kept waiting on him to go somewhere liked, but he never did... Id love to have babies!
They move relatively slowly. If they get too much light too quickly, they can't get away fast enough. They don't really "let go" like other anemones, either. It's more like a pub crawl :)

Mushrooms will usually detach if they're really unhappy, if it's only looked seriously mad in the last day then it hasn't had time to detach yet. When mine are mad they just move down a couple inches from their spot dropping babies along the way. It's other shroom species I have that love to float away, haven't seen it as much with R. yuma.

Another note about my ph. I've thought seriously about dripping Kalkwasser and even bought the stuff to do it, but I read that if you stop, your ph just returns to where it was...
Try letting in some outside air if you can, or rigging your skimmer to pull in outside air. Also, calibrate your pH probe before you do anything as that could very easily be the issue.

Guess I've never ticked one off this badly! LOL

I don't have a ph probe. .sadly. Im testing with API tests. I know its not the best, and Im looking at ph probes now, since Im having ph issues. I tried taking a sample of my water outside and stirring, then testing again and still got the same readings. I opened a window too... Nothing happened. Im not sure how I would run a line from my skimmer because I have the coraline biocube skimmer....

I've only had one yuma ever completely let go, the rest just move a little bit. I totally agree about the "pub crawl" haha. It's the Discosoma and Actinodiscus that love to let go and float around.

For the outside test, you will have to aerate the water (preferably with an air pump) for an hour or so before you test pH again. Alternately, you can get handheld pH probes off of Amazon for under $50...just make sure to get buffered pH calibration standards as well.

I find that the windows need to be open for quite some time before you see a change in pH. Basically, all of the excess CO2 has to be purged from the house, and enough time has to elapse for the tank to reach equilibrium (or near equilibrium) with the reduced CO2 atmosphere.

True. I did see that a long time ago with the Discosomas :)

Pffffh....
I can't afford one right now as Im out of work... But if anyone has an extra laying around....lol. Ill trade ticked off yuma for it!
Lol!

That actually looks like a good spot for him with reduced lighting and moderate flow. He doesn't look bad in that video, just a little pale, and it looks like he is trying to inflate. All good signs, I'd say.

They really resilient with lighting. I have a couple different type of shroom and I even had my one larger shroom 3 inch from the surface. Loved it. Then he fell to the sand with his piece of rock and still happy. And for instant I have 2 chalice picture below once before. And now after a crash I had. You will see the smaller frag is the pink watermelon and has almost no tissue as so did my other chalice and started to come back with colors. Takes lots of time

@Dana Jackson ... I'd relax and see what happens at this point. Mine fold-up like tacos and just about roll themselves into a burrito shape(yes it's almost lunchtime) when they feed. It's kinda gnarly looking too. Perhaps a defense from my peppermint shrimp begging them for food. LOL

Mine have done that before. Looks bad and it is stress related, but usually they recover. I would wager light to be the issue. Shade it and slowly move it back into the spot you want it.
