To me he looks bleached. I would keep him , if he dies get him out quick. If he is really stressed he might split. I got a rose anenome about a month after I got my tank cause I couldn't wait I have had her for a year now. When I got a bigger tank she split but both are doing good. Good luck!!!

she looks great buddy, fantastic looking animal! sad news for mine! :/

Oh, Also guys n girls, yes once i got the anemone out from being stuck etc, his parts sort of went in the tank cause i kept him in to see if i could save him, i never let him hit the air, and about 10mins after this i done a 25% water change and cleaned my sand with the vacuum, i also added some ammonia detoxifying stuff just to be safe and i added a little bio spira too... tanks clean and water crystal clear, fish doing fine, starfish was unhappy he went wondering up my glass then decided to go hiding again in sand

I'm sorry dude, we have all lost stuff in our tanks. I know exactly how you feel.

wife was pretty upset too, she liked him a lot and wanted him to thrive, but oh well sometimes bad things like this happen, ill learn from this and probably be more aware in the future with filters and such, wish i could turn back time and just left him alone in petco, i thought the aiptasia would sting anemones like corals but guess not, my clowns, star (Patrick) and my snails are doing great and my chromish is bulletproof and made frinds with the clowns, everyones happy and ill add another little fish maybe after a few weeks, i wanted to put a scooter blenny in at some point but believe i need a well established tank but im unsure and i need to research this

175 gallon my first tank was 39 gallon

You have a pretty tank bud, i love it i could sit and look at it all day long lol, what did you have in your 39g??

Im gonna upgrade to a bigger tank soon but im gonna start everything up and let it sit awhile and add some live rock and new live sand (Old live rock) and let it all cycle longer than i did my original tank, and then move my fish from my 20g to that, i wanna 40g wide with about 20lbs of live rock and a good deep sand bed for my star

I got aiptasia on a piece of live rock I bought about a week or so ago and I've now removed it, gonna dry it out and use it in a few weeks to cycle a different tank... Good or bad or ehhh??? Anyone know?

Don't wanna make a new thread (the aiptasia was removes ages ago but small piece was getting bigger so now removes whole rock)

I struggled with them for awhile, a few options if they come back. 1 nudibranchs there kind of expensive and delicate, 2 peppermint shrimp hit and miss 3 copper band fish need a bigger tank for it I think and delicate,4 chemicals like aptasia x. I have tried all 4. Copper band got beat up in my tank, the other 3 seem to be working. Nudibranchs were $165 for 10

Yeah ive heard about those nudis, very expensive also heard of a file fish? and yeah sadly i dont have much option other than a bigger tank, i dont plan on keeping corals yet i am waiting for a few months or more before considering frags and things, so if they do grow again and get out of hand, ill throw in some shrimp and some chemicals but i do wanna stay away from chems, as i use enough of those for water

Are you testing alk, cal, mag, and phosp?

No just test for Ammonia, PH, nitrite and nitrate, im not sure where to get test kits to test for them ones, also my PH gets a lil lower, was a 8.5/2 now a 8.2/8.0 may need to get a buffer

or try the hose to water to window air method again i believe it worked somewhat,

Are you dosing alkalinity

i dont think so, i used bio spira, ammonia detoxifying things every water change for water and tank, uhm, things of that nature, just to keep water safe, cycling stuff, bio reef fuel, which i dont really use?

i dont keep corals or anything so think i wouldnt need those? yet anyways, if so any brands i should look for or where i can buy

PH of 8 is fine, your alk and calcium is related to your ph so it is good to test for them. Api makes a reef test for alk, cal, phosphate, pH goes up with your lights on.

Do your daily testing, your weekly water change. Add 1 thing a month if you can keep it alive add something the next. Go slow! Careful with fish! They should be quartined. Ich is the devil
