Is this a Purple Monster?

Looks like a Purple Monster to me... Unfortunately I lost mine during a tank transfer...
My 20k has thin branches...

Looks like a PM to me.I have an 8 year old lineaged colony and have seen it grown differently in different systems.and polyps can be greenish or whitish depending on its maturity.

I would say its definately a PM but when you sell frags someday keep in mind that you don't have lineage so you cant be 100% on it. If it takes on a Christmas Tree growth form as it grows out then it is for sure. PM colonies look like purple X mas trees. They are wide at the bottom and form a point at the top.

I know dan and tina have a huge purple monster colony that they got from someones tank tear down.

It is possible it is the purple monster, but also can be one of there thousands of pieces they have. I know they only cut a few pieces.

Overall it is one of the nice pieces.

it is PM, i got mine 8 month ago 1" frag, now only 1 1/2" very slow

Same with mine, no growth upwards, just encrusting the plug...very slow.

Also, my polys are green, and it will sometimes look green in color, but then go back to purple....The Lokani and PM look a little similar in shape, but Lokani's are more blue...

Either way for $20 you got a steal, congrats.

Whatever it is you got a great buy. I have both the 20k and 30k lokani pieces and it looks like neither of them.

i will try to get a decent shot of mine today..it looks identical but only has one branch going up the center about 3/4" tall but the color and flesh and poylps are rite on the money....
