New to the forum but not new to the hobby. Been out of the hobby for several years. Got the itch again and found a craigslist post, heres the details: "Like brand new!! 1 year old 43 gal total Red Sea marine tank 34 gal display,9 gal sump. Red Sea stand, kessil 360 tuna blue light and mount and kessil controller, sicce pumps, mp10 wireless, protein skimmer, ice cap Ato, power distribution, carbon reactor. Much more stuff as you can see. getting out of hobby Over $2000 invested my loss your gain Will not separate!!! Must pick up! Turn key very thing you need" The only issue i really foresee is moving it 2 plus hours to my home. I guess its not really a huge issue. Ive been doing alot of reading on moving tanks. So, i got a pretty good idea on it. Only thing i see thats conflicting is to keep the sand or replace it. Any thoughts or comments?

Welcome to R2R. Is your paying price 2 grand? That's a little steep but a lot of nice equipment though. If you get it I'd just rinse the sand.

I apologize i thought the price was still on there. He actually wants $650 for it all. Just rinse in rodi water? Filter it or just grab a handful and swish it around?

Welcome to R2R! 650? I'd jump all over it;)

It does have a few pieces of coral and 2 fish at the moment. The whole sump idea has me a little miffed. I started out using a plain jane 55 gallon and some hang on filters and then moved to a biocube. I guess i keep stepping up in the game. Ive got a ton of reading and learning to do between now and thursday afternoon. Hah

I’d say $650 isn’t bad for all that if it’s in good shape. Main thing would be if the tank holds water and the equipment works.

He sent me pictures of the setup and of the coral and fish. Seems to be legit pictures. But then again anything is possible.

Sounds like you will be enjoying yourself, for sure. Congratulations! My 2-cents: For a small investment, buying new live sand (the variety of your choosing) will probably give you that wonderful ‘complete fresh start’ feeling. Amazon will send the sand to you, if you don’t feel like going to it (LFS)! Lol.

I'd jump all over that. I would rinse the sand with saltwater.

Luckily i have amazon prime! i may go ahead and do that. I like a fresh feeling.

Appears to be a frog spawn, mushroom of some sort and maybe a sps. Fish wise is a domino damsel and a single clown. Ill post the pictures he sent me.

Corals keep. Domino rehome to LFS. Clown keep.
