Jake's .9 gallon 6" cube Nano in 90

Here's the snail that I found hitchhiking. Anyone know what kind it is? Good or pest?

I had one of those R2 Extreme moonlight modules on my 10g FW setup. I decided to move it over to my reef for some extra blue supplementation when the daylights are on, and for some nice illumination when the daylights turn off. I think it looks quite nice on this little cube.

And a close up of the 3 dragon eyes that open (unfortunately they are the only 3 that open, all the others stay either completely or partially closed).

As I'm learning more about my camera, I'm able to take better shots. So, here are some new and improved pictures of the two new frags.

And the "clove polyps" which look more like bleached zoas to me, but I'm new to this, so I'm probably wrong

Looks like a nerite or collonista snail. My bet is on the latter :)

I hadn't though of nerite. I've never seen a baby/juvenile nerite, and wouldn't have thought they would be white. But I can see that as a possibility. Collonista was my guess too, but want site since it didn't have any markings on it. Thanks for chiming in. I haven't seen him in about 20 hours, but he's small and even in this tank there are plenty of places to hide. I'll try to get an update on him when I can.

They come in lots of colors. I have a large nerite whose shell is white with some yellow.

Nice corals shots BTW. Wish I could take pics half that nice!

Thanks. I give all the credit to my camera, I just push a button :)

I have a Nikon CoolPix P100. It's a very nice point and shoot that also has very good manual controls. I've had the camera for about 2 years and thanks to this little tank I'm finally learning how to use it.

As for the nerites, I have a few in my freshwater setups, both are olive green and black tiger stripped. I've seen other colors, but not white. I'm going to have to fashion some sort of lid for this tank now that there's a snail in it.

Jake, nice coral pics and great idea to move the moonlight module over!

I was about to say alveopora, but each polyp is supposed to have 12 tentacles. It looks like your coral has a bit more than that. It is probably a goniopora, which have 24 tentacles per polyp.

I think you're correct about it being goniopora. After looking at some images of that, it's definitely what it looked like in the store when all the polyps were extended. We'll see if it will survive in my tank. I have medium flow at best.
