I reciently bought a used JBJ 28 HQI that's missing both return pumps, skimmer and all 4 Nite-Vu LEd's are dead. I am looking for all these items and I'll be looking for a chiller also. Any suggestions on which brand I buy for these items? Any for sale here ?

I would look at Cobalt pumps (the original Maxijets made by the Italian company before MaxiJet went Chinese), either the 900 or 1200. JBJ does sell replacement LED's but costly. If you have soldering skills, you can simply solder in new LEDs at a fraction of the cost. And as far as the chiller, if you're in the NJ area, I know someone who has a chiller for a JBJ....and FYI, with the HQI, you will need a chiller.

It is a Nano Artica Titanium 1/20 HP....the original chiller supplied by JBJ for the 28 HQI tank....now discontinued.

I have used the Cobalt 1200 and 900 to replace the stock pumps in JBJ, there is a notable improvement. Always check the foot print of whatever pump you choose. It's a cramped space and getting those pumps to fit can be a challenge.
In the very tight back chamber pumps can easily begin vibrating, they pick small pieces of debris or rubble. Some pump types do not site right in the connection to the diplay.
Next comes your skimmer options, the Innovative Marine Ghost fits but fails as a skimmer. I am not sure the newer Tunze 9001 fits in the side chambers but it will probably fit in the center, the issue is the lid of then tank, opening and closing. Sea Clone is another fail. The Aquamax has a great reputation.
For chillers the one I used no longer made, but a chiller is really a must have for the HQI, this tank runs pretty hot without one.
I encourage you to change out the screw that old the shield over the light, the stock screws rust quickly and strip easily.

Oh well no wonder I changed real fast
The thermal link was opening up due to high temp. After eliminating the ballast as the cause, I pulled the splash guard off and found the fans were filthy. Took them off one by one and cleaned all the dust off. Vacuumed all the nooks and crannies. Removed the reflector and vacuumed under it. Put it all back together and it runs without opening the thermal link now. Any idea what the thermal link temp is set at ? What's the "safe operating temp" for the JBJ 28 HQI light ?
