You should be able to get those computer fans at Walmart.

I had my JBJ 28 for over 8 yrs, in that time the ballast also failed and I had to remove the on/off switch and by pass the switch but it worked until I finally took the tank down and replaced with the JBJ 20 RL, then the JBJ 30 RL, now the JBJ 45 RL.

Bought a used AquaEuro 1/13 chiller and I noticed it's missing nut which seals the cabinet from leaks getting into the unit. Anyone have one kickin around ?

As for a skimmer, I had luck with the stock one as long as I kept the air stone fresh. The only issue is that you can't open the lid without taking off the skimmer collection cup... and if you forget, you'll crack the skimmer cup/housing. I have seen people run the PSK-75H across the back chambers with great results.

If you go to a plumbing store or maybe even Home Depot / Lowes, you should be able to find something similar to work from a bulkhead fitting, OR if it's not some weird metric size, you could maybe find a male pvc adapter and cut 1/2" of the threaded part off and make your own "nut."

If you can figure out the size by taking the known good one and matching it up, this place has what you need, the bulkheads that'll have the corresponding nug to use.

I thought of that. I ended up buying a 1 x 3/4 PVC bushing and cutting the hexagon nut side off. Fit perfect.

I'm still looking for a use protein skimmer that will fit inside the filter chamber of my JBJ 28.

The old Tunze 9002 skimmer fit in the JBJ28. However, it went in the center section, you had to cut the magnets off the skimmer, and you had to purchase a smaller collection cup so you could open the hood. Look at an HOB instead.

HOB is not an option. I don't want the tank to look like a science experiment. It's got to fit the rear. I know my choices are limited.

Have you considered the original wood air stone skimmers....they work if you have a strong enough pump and clean/replace the air stone every couple months.

I have been looking for a used "oem" air stone driven skimmer. Haven't found one yet.
I have a line on a used IM ghost desktop. It fits in the center conpartment.

Okay...I have a skimmer, return pumps, moon lights (thanks Fredro), and a chiller. I still need a Powerhead for the chiller and a new HQI bulb. That will cover all the major stuff. Then its on to the little things like refractometer, and test kits.

Today I'm starting to clean all the old calcium deposits out of the sump and tank. I used 7 gallons of vinegar to 21 gallons of water. Will this be strong enough ? I have some hydroelectric acid I could add to lower the pH even further.

For those who may be interested. My 3 to 1 part solution worked like a charm. The tank is clean as new. I need just a few more hardware items. A power strip, new light bulb, and a Powerhead for the chiller.

Haha....no unfortunately. I have been slowly collecting all the hardwear I will need when I set it up. With summer vacations, yard and pool maintenance keeping me busy I haven't bothered filling it. I still need a couple of things like a heater, ATO feed pump, test kits. I have been looking into purchasing live rock. I'm not going to cycle dry rock. I prefer the look of live and all the critters that come with it.
