Anyone use this dosing pump? Apparently it's the new model that replaces the 3.4 dosing pump. Any thoughts on this pump?

I actually just set this one up, only have it running since Sunday.

So how has it been so far? I just came across this and am thinking about it. Would like to hear some feedback as its only got 3 reviews on amazon.

So, 2 things. 1: Amazon royally messed up and lost my first one. We canceled that order and got a refund and I reordered it. That's the one I have set up now. A month after the initial order, the original one showed up. Amazon hasn't recharged me for it.

2. One of the four heads is very squeaky, but I only need to use three right now so I'm just ignoring that one. So far it seems to be consistent and on time. The set up was really easy once I paid attention to what I was doing (the little calendar looking button is to save edits in the app). I thought about pulling out the second one that I have to see if it has a squeaky head as well, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I am dosing RedSea AB+, easybooster, and ALK. I have not seen any major fluctuations in my alkalinity since switching dosers.

Its awesome to hear that the setup was easy. I've got an older non-wifi Jebao doser, and the setup/scheduling/etc are awful. It works fine, but its just so tedious to adjust.

I'm considering this for auto water changes and 2 part dosing. I assume this is accessible on phone when not home? It would be nice to have confidence that if issues arose, I could log on and turn pumps/schedules off as needed in emergencies, say for instance, if I forgot to empty my old sw container and am on a busy work schedule and unable to perform that task in time.

Interested in hearing more. I’ve been on the fence about getting a doser, we have an Apex I just can’t justify the money for getting the DOS and Trident... and that we’re getting more into the SPS game so some auto dosing would be nice and jaebo prices are pretty easy to stomach.

I got one a few weeks ago. I cant really report much as my tank is newer so I am only using it to manually run a dose for me when I do a test every few days. but so far so good. It has been hooked up the entire time and doesnt seem to have dropped off wifi anytime I want to connect to it.
The only confusion I had was for the setting up a schedule I didn't know what interval. I found that you set day 0 for it to dose every day. I also found my head 1 is a bit more squeaky than the other 3 heads. i also swapped with the spare and the same. I am not worried as it seems to be working fine. I wouldn't use it for AWC

I will test this tomorrow while I'm at work and let you know if I can access and make changes.

Yes, my squeaky one is the first one as well. Interesting. I didn't even try swapping it, I just used the other 3.

Haven't seen the app, but knowing Jebao is more cost effective, I assume you might need to port forward to that device and set up a dynamic dns to your local network if the doser has its own web server on it for the control panel (similar to most routers and switches). Or if its more advanced and simpler setup similar to the red sea reefbeat app, then it just connects through the app automatically because the doser syncs to the manufacturers server similarly to dynamic dns/port forwarding route (without user setup).

I actually bought this dozer few weeks ago. Setup is fast and easy. The wifi works even if you're away from home. Calibration doesn't seem very accurate though... But it's cheap enough I'm pretty happy with the unit.

I decided to buy one today just to have for when i need it. Worth the price even just for two part dosing.

I received mine today, set it up on wifi and confirmed that it works when not home by turning off wifi on my phone and accessing it over mobile data. Was able to turn the doser on and off and do anything without being connected to same wifi network. None of my pumps are sqeaky.

I just received mine today and got it setup in no time. Getting it hooked to the internet and setup on the app was simple.

I just verified that the pump can be managed while not on the same WIFI network.

Just revisiting this as I finally set up some tubing and tried to test it out and calibrate it. Initially out of the box just running it for a minute with no liquid and all the heads ran fine no squeaking. Once I put tubes on and ran some RO through the line to remove air and then calibrate each head, they all began to squeak after a minute of running, to the point where most of them would freeze and stutter. Problem is that when they start running the heads are cool, but the longer they run, the shaft and paddles that rotate in each head heat up from friction causing the mechanics to wobble even more which causes more heat and more importantly causes the paddles to bind on the head casing. Worst case the head gets stuck and is really hot. I am not satisfied with this dosing pump and unfortunately got rid of the case so can't return it. It was wasted money as I couldn't get any of the heads included to run for more than 4 minutes before this happened. Once it happens then it happens every time almost immediately even after letting the head cool down for 30 min.

Save your money.

that sucks. When I calibrated all of mine I ran them each for a long time and only head 1 got a little squeaky the other 3 ran smooth as butter and no heat and no lock up. I have been using it on my tank for about a month now with no issues. Granted I am doing a small amount each time

Final update I'll add to this.. I returned them through amazon without packaging fine. Couple weeks later I decided to order the heaper dp-4 non wifi dosing pump cause I just can't get myself to spend over $300 for a 4 pump doser. I had found a youtube video that shows a simple fix to these pump heads which is apparently an assembly error at factory by default. Box arrived today and I pulled the heads apart and confirmed the parts were reversed just as mentioned in this video below. I swapped the parts as described in this video and ran tests on the fixed head and another one that came as is from factory. Both worked fine. I did not have any issues with these pumps/heads like the wifi one. I do not have the wifi one to check to see if this fix would resolve the issues I had with the wifi one, but its worth a shot if you have the wifi one because it seems like it would resolve the wobble problems that I was having. Having never taken a head apart before I did not realize it was that simple mechanics and I can see now that I might have had success with those heads had I done this fix.

My guess either the pump motors weren't tightened down when installed into chassis on my wifi one which caused the shaft to wobble, or the motors were manufactured poorly in the new version and caused the same shaft wobble. Either that or the head parts were installed incorrectly as described below.

Either way, I am happy with the non wifi dp-4 that everyone seems to have used for years. It was only $65 too!

I followed this thread among others a while back because the wifi doser I bought wouldn't connect for the love of God!! I had it put away for over a year and was using the same for non wifi you have.

Anyway, I bought two kamoer x pumps. 1 pro and 1 regular flavoured. Pro wouldn't connect just like the 3.4. Unsure why they keep making these things 2.4ghz. Long story short,i got it to work AND the Solution was so simple ir was dumb.

Dont let your wifi name even start with the same letter.

Mine was setup like. Maxi5ghz and Maxi2.4ghz the dosers would never find it.

Anyway, changed the wifi to 2 4ghz Maxi and waddya know, connected first try in multiple devices. Even ones with 5g preference. So i said to myself, "Self, go plug in that there old wifi Jebao".

Instant connection with full function.

Figure I'd update just because we gotta keep sharing if solutions pop up.
