Jebao Products?

Everyone that has chimed in, thanks so much! Hard to find info on these units. The PP4 looks great

I actually have one for sale if you want it. $35 shipped and it had only been used for about 2mos.

I'm considering a two Jebao wp10 units with a twin controller for my nano. My hydor 850s do not like the hydor wavemaker. They get stuck quite often and requre manual starting. Dissapointed about that. Has anyone used Jebao products? Thoughts? the WP10s are small, DC, and very controllable from what I can tell. A budget Vortec IMO. Please chime in if you've had any experience with these units at all. Thanks!

Have used 12v return pump 3000, and 2 wp 40s. out of they box they are impressive. However after about a year or so, they stick as well and act up from there on out.. This happened almost exactly for all stated devices. I contacted my ebay supplier and they replaced the faulty controller for one of the heads. IMO, they are a great value and move a ton of water. Eventually however, like any saltwater electronic device, they will give you trouble eventually.

I've used the WP and RW models and really like them. I've not seen the PP models, because the older models are very solid. They do take on calcium deposits and lock up, just like all pumps in the reefing world so learn how to take them apart and soak them in vinegar making sure to free the ceramic bearings and shafts and they will last for many years. The controllers are less than perfect. I control mine with my Apex controllers. I also have vortech pumps which require the same maintenance. I actually get more flow control and directional control with my jebao pumps. Try one and see if you like it; you're not out much $ if you don't.

Ordering two PP4s tomorrow. Along with a grounding probe (because it's dumb not to have). Excited to see how the Jebao's function vs. my Hydor 850s on a wavemaker. I'm not out that much. Either way whichever ones I like least I'll put on my "experimental" tank (extra parts tank that I refuse to put any real money into)

I have a pp4, pp8, pp15, wp20, wp10, dc3000, dc12000, dc8000. All work great except wp20. It's magnet started to get weak, flow is still great. Dc pumps going on 2+ yrs. Get the pps as they have the updated magnets and flow design. Tough to beat the price and performance

I just ordered the CP-25 which is there version of the Maxspect Gyre. I didn't read to many reviews, figured I'd just try it and take care of it and see how it performs. I figured for half the price of the Gyre and some of the bad reviews that it had it would be worth a shot.

I've had two WP10's running without any issues on a nano for around 18 months. I use a JBWave controller for these and am entirely satisfied with the pumps and the controller.

I'm going to use two RW4's with the wireless Aqualink controllers on my new build.

Suffice to say I'm a fan.

I've been running a RW4 in ny 14g cube for the last 18 months, even on the lowest setting the flow is more than enough in fact i wish i could turn it down just a little bit more.
As others have said clean them around once a month, you can get quite a bit of drop off in flow once they get gunged up.

I have had so many problems with the Jebao power heads. I bought 4 different RW series pumps and only 1 out of the 4 is still working... only 9 months later. 3/4 failed within 9 months.

2 RW-8's - both dead within six months
2 RW-15's only one working and I don't have much faith in it.

I was hoping to get at least a year out of them. I frequently cleaned them too. I'm going to stay far away from their products in the future.

They did push around a whole lot of water when they worked. The built in wave maker was nice as well.

I have 2 DC 4000 ; 2 DC 1200 ; 2 RW8 and one CP 40 from them and so far all are doing great and by mistake after cleaning and re-assembling i have damaged one of the "o" rings in the CP 40 and sourced one locally which is slight thick than the original but its running good. The only problem in CP 40 as for me is the sound. Which we can hear clearly at night when all are sleeping...

I have 2 WP60 and 2 of the RW, 2 of them are over 2 years old and 2 are about 18 months old, also have a DC-12000. My pumps get cleaned about every 6 months maybe longer. using twin controllers but would go with the wireless. Even though the vortech is nice having the motor outside the tank for heat, if you want to clean the end glass where you mount them they are in the way and you have the wires hanging. You can direct the flow with the Jebao but not with the Vortech. When I can buy 4 of the large Jebao for the price of one Vortech WP40 it was easy to buy the Jebao. For the price of 2 WP40 Vortech I can buy a programmable multi speed 3 hp pump for my pool. So yes I think the Vortech are way over priced for a bunch of plastic.

I have 4 Jebao RW-8 pumps. Two are used in my 135 gallon reef tank and they provide more than enough water movement: too much at level 8 constant on. I use 1 in each of my 25 gallon Rubbermaid frag tanks. I've had all of these for 1-2 years and love them, the WiFi sync feature for wave action.

One NOTE: when new, I found 3 out of 4 of the pumps had very small magnetic "chips" or fragments smaller than a grain of table salt clinging to either the rotor, or inside the chamber in which the rotor fits. Since they are magnetic chips, they are a bugger to remove. I had to wipe the rotor and inside the stator compartment several times with a wet cloth. Otherwise, the little 'chip' would get caught in the very small space between the rotor and stator. Once removed, they work great. I think one did acquire another chip after a month. Probably one that was in there but not in the tight clearance area.

I also have the Jebao 4 channel dosing pump. I've used it for over a year and a half. No problems at all. I bought all of these from Fragfreaks. I was able to buy spare dosing pump tubing from Fish Street for the Jebao.

I clean my RW-8 pumps 1x about every 8-12 weeks. I do notice an increase in flow after cleaning. What gets dirty is the intake vanes, the propeller surface and a slime layer on the rotor and stator body.

I watched a YouTube video where a guy demonstrated that both of this Jebao wavemaker controllers sparked when he plugged the power cable into the controller unit. That's slightly disconcerting to me.

your not suppose to have the power supply plugged in when you hook a pump up to the controller. You plug pump into controller, hook power supply to controller then plug power supply into AC.

I have 2 RW15s in my 120g. I have them hooked up to and run them through my controller. They are great. You can purchase the RW/PP4 through Amazon or Fish Street. I think Fish Street prices are lower, but you don't get a warranty. The powerheads aren't high end price wise and people do have functionality issues with them every now and then, but they perform incredibly high end and are incredibly inexpensive.

My PP4 should be here tuesday. Details to come! Already planning on possibly having to get an inverter selectable between 15-24v to throttle down the beast

I have 2 rw-4 on my 50 gallon using with no issues... best bang for the buck.. let me now how you like your pp4
