To my eyes yes. I tried to turn off the actinic lights but couldn't get all of them.

I am not certain what would cause that. I don't know for sure because it usually turns really pale pink or white when it dies. I have heard of dark green coraline algae, but black is new to me. Does the tank smell bad? Like sulfer or anything?

No, not that I know what sulfur smells like but the water doesn't smell bad. If I had to guess it smells like normal seawater. I still have to do my weekly test but everything should be within the norm.

I am stumped. Any luck looking into the 15 dollar lux meter so you can see where you need to place that acan?

Not yet. Money was a little tight but I have to go tomorrow to get more r/o so I'll see if my LFS has one. I also added one more set of 4 10,000 k white leds to my light so there's some extra light. I also had to take out my powerhead because of my mushrooms detaching from the frag they're on and one kept floating off the rock onto the sand.

I'd look on amazon. They have them for 15 bucks. Cheaper than a LFS for sure. I like to support local businesses, but if money is tight, you do what ya gotta do.

Does anyone know of any good ways of securing mushrooms to the LR? I have corafix and when I tried to use it it just caused my mushroom to spit it's innards out the bottom in stress and never actually stuck to the rock. And all three of my mushroom heads have come off the frag they were on and are having a hard time attaching themselves. Help?

Get some wedding veil, and cut it into strips. Use a strip to tie the shroom to a plug or rock. They'll usually attach in a week or so if they are not injured.

OK thanks I'll try and do it tomorrow. Very annoying to worry going to sleep and finding one or two in the sand in the morning

So after having to reconstruct my live rock in the tank after my large turbo snail knocked a couple rocks off and messed up my scape, I've finally got everything under control and my mushrooms seem happy and are starting to attach to the rocks. I tried to glue my zoo frags but that didn't work out so well so I need to find a new home for my turbo snail before he damages more in my tank and my coralline is growing and changing color

Get rid of that sand siphon as much out or put all your rock and water in a bucket remove all the sand go bare bottom and shake off the rocks before u put it back into the display that sand is a nitrate detritus trap and do some big water changes once a week for two weeks use water changes as ur main nutrient export for such a small tank like two gallons every two weeks
