jgraz's 90 up grade

Jgraz. Saw your thread pop up and thought i'ld roll through and look for that yellow digi. Nice build. I went the same direction with the tall stand for the 90 and love it. Good thinking on highering the sump baffles. Thought they were a bit low for water volume. What was the intensions on the inverted top on that culligan water jug?? That was your ato resevior right? Just thought you might of had a seceret dirrection with the inverted top? Tank looks great.

Def one of my favorites.

The taller stand is great. I love being able to stare at eye level. As for the jug, I'm using a small pump for the ATO and needed a way to get it in there. I also figured it would allow me to easily add water. That was a mistake, Everytime I add it the curve makes water flow all over. Messy. But it will soon be a thing of the past as soon as I build the side cabinet for equipment. I figure I'll go with a 10 gallon tank then.

The last pic looks like my meteor shower-sweet piece. It looks like there might be a monster above that red monti eating all your hermits. Looks like a crab graveyard.haha

Thx for the ID. I think you hit it. As for the monster, I have no idea what's going on there. They are all dwarf ceriths.

Few changes today.
New pump: Rio HyperFlow32

Manifold installed. Had to go with my first design due to space constraints.

Split my BRS dual. With the upcoming start of bio pellets I'm hoping to not need GFO so I'll only need one.

Coming soon are the pellets and a cabinet for the electrical and ATO next to stand

Bio pellet reactor in it temporary spot. When I add to the volume I might have a different are that I will put it.

Question those pellets that are above the other seem to be stuck to the tube will they be fine. I've shaken thing as much as I can a some of them just won't come down.

Biopellets week 2
Week 2: just added my next batch last yesterday. I started with 1/4, now I'm up to 1/2. It's still early I think to be seeing any results yet. Only thing I have noticed is that the skimmer is a bit harder to dial in ATM. Seems to be skimming a tad bit wetter. I'm still getting the usual film on glass also. I did not add any bacteria to start it off. I 2 weeks I'll add the next 1/4.

Bio-pellets week 4:
So last week i noticed that I would have to clean a heavy film off the glass almost daily. Everything looked good otherwise so I just kind of filed it away in my brain for later thought. The last time I cleaned the glass was on Thursday and as of this morning its still pretty clean. So I figured that the pellets finally kicked in since i also noticed that my skimmer production while the same seems to be much darker and smellier. Oh, and cheato has also been dying off, so I finally tossed that out. With that said I went ahead and added my 3 batch of pellets. This brings me up to about 3/4 of a full batch. After I brought the reactor back online I decided it was time to feed. I noticed that one of my bangaii's is missing. Then I realize that I haven't seen it in quite some time. Then I remembered the extra film on the glass. I guess he must have died last week sometime and the hermits just did their job.

Anyway no other changes ATM.

Well it's been a while since I updated. Nothing special to report. Pellets seem to be going well. I changed my mp20's to 40's, and I'm on the hunt for at least one more fish. Most likely a wrasse, though I'm not not exactly sure which one yet. Well that's about it. I took a ton of pics today as well I'll get to most of them later but here is a few top downs for now. Some are the pretty much the same pic with white balance adjusted. Thanks for looking.

This tank looks great. Question for you why the switch to biopellets, what was happening to make you want to try them? They sounds like they are working for you as they eat the phosphate down sounds like the macro algae is dying in the sump then. Did you remove the sand in the sump then two? Are you going to increase supplements as the biopellets tend to make tanks very low on nutrients good ones and bad ones.

Looking great!! I would love to see an updated FTS. :)

Looking good! I love that Frogspawn.

Thank You. Definitely a favorite

I was having a tough time keeping nutrients down, so figured I'd give them a try. The macro did start to die so I tossed it and pulled the sand out of the sump to prepare to possibly use it as a frag tank of sort. As for suppliments, i have started to dose MB7 about once every 2 weeks and will be doing the same with Zeobak just to keep a good variety of bacteria going. I was dosing AV fuel about once a week, but recently ran out so I'll be starting Warner Marine Amino now on the same schedule. And Itend to be a heavy feeder as well.

Here you go Krista, and a few more too boot.

Thanks for sharing!! The tank looks fantastic!!

Yo Jgraz-what type of ?stylo? is that? Also what is the acro under your slimer-pearlberry? or mop? or?
Do you run the exit line from your bio-pellets to your skimmer pump enterance area?

The line out of the pellet reactor is kind of just sitting from of my skimmer pump. Not sure how much is actually going in though. I need to set that up a little better.
I don't have any stylo's. Which pic are you looking at? This one? If so that is my Birds Of Paradise. Colors aren't the greatest

In these pics the acro with the purplish tips is pearlberry
