JLobes 120 restart.

and we are off. Just tested the tank to see where we are at, and as expected, ammonia/nitrite show zero, but nitrates are off the charts(50+). pretty normal for a just cycled tank, those nitrates will come down with the WC before stocking.

Just started the ammonia digestion test. added 10ml of ammonia, and will retest everything tomorrow(24hrs). Im expecting nothing but zeros for everything(nitrate excluded). If so, then Ill do the WC and add the first inhabitants. Seems like it took forever, but ya cant rush a good thing!! not really forever, but just about a month or so. gonna hit up reefcleaners and get my CUC on the way, need some CUC for the nano as well, so that works out. and first fish will make an appearance, later this week or early next. Depends on what I find and where.

GGRRR, has anybody else noticed new locline, not mating properly with older locline!? Just tried to install some new locline and its all loose and saggy at the main connection. The MPT to locline is an older one and the new locline doesnt fit tightly. is it just me or have the internal specs/dimensions been altered?

This was one of the last things to do for the tank to be "finished", but seems I may need to order some new MPT>locline, and see if that helps. UGH, frustrating to say the least!

alright!! first fish DEFINITELY coming in this week. cant wait and super excited. got the QT all set up and running, now its just wait!

been a minute since the last update. Tank is looking good, currently going through a diatom bloom. not too terrible, but its there. Small CUC in the tank and probably gonna add more after Xmas.

First fish came in on Friday! got a small, nice looking borbonius. Currently in QT. Looks pretty healthy, a bit faded, but no signs of illness/disease, yet. was a bit inactive/stayed in the corner the first day, but thats typical. however, the past couple days, been getting more active and exploring the tank. Good feeding response and is eating when I feed(using rods eggs, rods food, and some LRS).

testing regularly to keep ammonia in check, have some amquel on hand, just in case. Might do a small WC tonight, but if everything checks out, ill probably just wait until tomorrow, when its time to do a transfer.

got in a couple new corals and a bigboy clam as well. those are in the 30 nano, until time to move into the main DT. pics to come soon! however, im not the best at getting good photo, thats gonna be something I work on in the new year! thanks for reading and the comments.

Just want to point out that,i love that you have a Jeff Soto Print on the wall :D
thanks! ;) good to know theres other soto/art fans on here.
Im a HUGE art collector, and have a pretty decent collection going. a few OGs, lots of LE prints and prints on wood, a couple 25 year old huichol pieces and NO posters. LOL
that soto is from prints on wood. I have a few others from the POW crew, as well as some giclee prints from soto. ive since moved those prints, due to worry about salty air.
heres some more soto for ya.

Sweet Jesus that looks amazing

Both!

But obviously the tank set up. Should help with mine!

Thanks!
LOL. the tank or the art?? ;)

both are pretty awesome, but the tank is my work of art. Ive been seriously considering doing installs for others, but limited market here in the 'boldt.

Are you kidding?
Im in Arcata.

also, forgot to mention, got the ATO in on thursday and all hooked up and running last night! using an aqualifter, jbj ato, 1/4" tubing and the JG fittings on the ato and sump. gotta say, ato is SO worth it. no need to top my tank off daily anymore, and seems to work great, so far.

Nice!
Yea, joined the group about a month ago.
I dont really contribute or post that much though.
Small world indeed.

heck yea!! I only post a bit on FB, way more active over here!

its cool to find someone local. We might have to get up for a drink and reef chat sometime soon. wouldnt mind meeting some new folks. especially, tank/R2R folks.

Borbonius is doing well, so far! been here since the 18th, completed the 2nd(3rd if you count the first) transfer today and added prazi. hes been eating great and seems to be adjusting just fine. starting to get back some coloration and no signs of issues yet. cant wait to get him into the DT! gonna be a happy day!

just a quick pic of the "finished" scape. finally got in there and finished the rockstack on the right. cut the small rock on the left on the inland saw to give it a flat bottom. oh yeah, added a large/two magnet shelf on the back wall from @gooch /alternative reef. time to add a bit more CUC to take care of the blooming algae, but things are looking good. patience is a serious virtue!! lol

heres a quick pic of the scape today, i apologize for the crappy pic/reflections. ill try to get some better ones this evening
