Mojo - Can you tell me why you like having this skimmer at 7" as opposed to 8"?

well really 7.5 to 8. too deep and it will overflow. Just gives more adjustment

I finally setup my skimmer last night. The skimmer is sitting in about 7.5" of water and when I first turned it on, I was getting a lot of surging. I figure, the pump still might be breaking in. After about a hour the bubble level became consistant but now I'm having an overflow issue even though the wedge pipe is wide open. Will the bubble level go down as the skimmer breaks in? Should I raise the skimmer more for now?

The tanks is almost 2yrs old and yes I have the air line hooked into the lid. What is the purpose of putting the airline in the lid?

Im in the same boat Viva, I gotta check the price point, see where this skimmer falls, it looks like a beast. I expect that the askoll does not have the restart issues of the sicce?

Forget all the negative I've heard from Euro customers, from all the spec's I have seen on the ATI powercone 250 so far, its a BEAST!!

the fitting on the lid is small and restrictive. restricting the air causes the pump to pull more water and will cause the skimmer to overflow.
