Kamoer fx stp parastalic pump

Got everything hooked up... figured it out.. only issue now, is that the carbondoser does not give a bubble off at the correct setting on the dial... I have it set for 10 seconds at 4psi and its giving me a bubble every 5 seconds... The bubble doesnt even go off when the red light flashes... i tried higher psi and bubbles just come flying out
 
Tried 2 different check valves and everything... the 10 second setting on dial is giving me a bubble every 5 seconds and not when the red light flashes... I have the kamoer set at 20ml a min
 
I’ve never owned or used a Carbondoser, so someone else will have to chime in here... sorry.
 
Thanks for your help buddy... I really do appreciate it... I just recalibrated the kamoer to see if it was off... but it was spot on 50ml both times I checked
 
Quick thought... what kind of check valves did you buy? Do you know their cracking pressures? Perhaps the check valves are what’s giving you inconstant visual bubble readings. By all accounts, the CarbonDoser LED bubble rates should be spot on.
 
I used the carbondoser checkvalve and also a brand new Dennerle check valve as well
 
Should I crank up the psi so that it has pressure in there? It just seems that when I do that, a flood of bubbles come... right now I seriously have it at 1psi and its giving me a bubble every 7 seconds
 
I have a Kamoer fx stp parastalic pump and carbon doser setup on a Skimz calcium reactor for my 165 gallon (total water volume). Been running for 2 months. My ALK and CA are very - very stable and corals are growing very well. It takes a day or so for the bubbling to settle-down when you 1st load it.
  • I run 15 psi on the Carbon doser and set the bubble delay to ~ every 7 seconds.
  • I pull-through / from the reactor with the fx stp set on 17 mls / minutes. I pull from the reactor instead of push into the reactor for safety. If the fx stp tubing ever breaks only a small bit of water can leak. Versus if push into the reactor (pressure) and the tubing pop-off you could pump your sump onto the floor at a nice steady rate.
  • I use my Apex to turn-on and off the Carbon doser according to the PH of the reactor's probe, keeping the PH between 6.65 and 6.7.
Love the reactor, the nutrients, and stability of ALK and CA, but did not love the drop in PH. Moving from 2 part that raised the PH (soda ash) to the CA that lowers the PH due to the PH of the drip had my PH in the 8-8.2 range. So I added a CO2 scrubber which now has the PH between 8.2 and 8.4. Have to change the scrubber media it once a week, but its easy and dry, so not too much of a sacrifice.

Problem with my carbondoser is that it does not give me the correct bubble per second rate... Ive tried everything
 
I run the Carbondoser and Kamoer on my MTC Minical Reactor. I usually ignore the number of bubbles. The quantity of bubbles doesn't matter especially if you have a consistent flow rate and PH in the main reactor chamber.

monitor Ph of main reactor chamber and flowrate. Increase bubbles on the dial if the target reactor Ph is not met.
 
I ignore the bubbles in the bubble counter. Just ensure pH is stable via my Apex

I have a kalk reactor on the way... gonna use that for nights
 
At this rate... If I cant get the carx finished... Thats just gonna sit around
