I'm awaiting my Kessil A350W but I've been reading a lot about the maxspect Razor R420R 160W fixture. I've yet to read a single bad thing about either which makes this really difficult. I was VERY impressed with Kessil as a company but I'm leaning towards maxspect... Im changing my mind hourly! HELP!!?

Check out the Orphec leds they are awesome.

I just switched out my AI's sol blues for the razor's, so far so good.. The razors definitly have a better spectrum but lack in the controllability department...

Yeah that's one of things pro kessil... you can adjust white/blue independently.. As far as the orphecs go, I'm not sure that adding a third for consideration is helpful. Narrowing it to two was hard enough. Other than the adjustability have any complaints?

The razor's are dimmable, you have 2 channel control and you can only set 6 time points... On the AI's I had 20 channel control, I could independently control each LED, and I had way more time points.....

Overall I do like the Razors over the AI's though...

I have to ask, what is the practical application of dimming independent LEDs?

Just my opinion. I had Acan LEDs on my red sea Max, they were nice, but decided to switch to the kessil a350w and I could not be happier. My corals seem to love it too. Good luck either way.

As a per-LED basis or a string of LEDs? Cause if it's on a per-LED basis, then you're going to have uneven lighting across the tank.

I did not have that issue with my AI's, each LED color was independently controlled..

Mike I've yet to speak to anyone who actually has the A350. You have the reg or the W? How long u had it?

I've got a 60g cube as well. Any idea if he got the regular or the wide angle? Any chance you've got a photo of his? I'd LOVE to c what it looks like!

My opinion is that all these gadget features on these leds are not that important. We need to concentrate more on what the par value is for our particular tank size. Its not whats cool its whats best for coral growth.

Agreed but the maxspect, so I've read, offer equal performance. That's the problem. I've got a feeling ill quite literally be flipping a coin.

Well this was an epically difficult choice. I changed my mind daily and even added the Radion to my possibilities. Today I ordered the Maxspect Razor 27in 160w 16k. I'm confident in my choice... Now I'll see if that confidence was well placed... in a week.

I love the Kessil A350 and had great success with it before Sandy destroyed my tank

the main thing is you are doing your due diligence and making a good evaluated decision based upon research and asking around, too many people do not take the time to do their research before making a LED purchase.

Wish you all the best please keep us posted
