Led hard choice! Help!

Jlobes, do you find that two 20"razors provide good light coverage over the 48" long tank. I'm currently setting up a 48x24x30 tank and I'm not sure if I should go with the two 20" or one 20" and one 27".

2x20" razors seems great over this tank. I have a center brace across the top, so the space between the two units is perfect. I could probably position them just an inch or two to the front and closer. but, I am stoked. Look great, super cool(less temp fluctuation), and sleek looking too. Also, very easy to set up!! just plug and play.

I got my radions also. dont have them set up yet. heck, barely have them programed/figured out. They are VERY bright though. Im getting it figured out slowly. ill post a sidexside sometime soon hopefully.

I have considered the kessels myself for a 30x30x18 tank. After seeing them in person the one thing I did not care for was the glare you get from them when looking top down. I will have a set of the razors in a few days, will let you know how I like them.

Cool man looking forward to your thoughts on Razors vs Radions!

A local guy is coming by today to take PAR readings if anyone is curious.... my tank is a 60g cube which I've not seen readings for.

Just remember, blue LED's are not properly read by PAR meters. The Par meter could read as much as 20% low then what the reading should really be..

That's dependent on the type of meter being used. Either way there are equations to calculate actual PAR. I believe we all know the basics and what the acronym stands for. I'll make sure the calculations are performed correctly and get as accurate a reading as is possible.

I bought 2 A350W last year for my 75 rimless which is great, but like you said, the manual tuning for each fixture is a pain. Especially when every one is trying to be more efficient with time management and tech saviness. the additional expense for the mount is also annoying, but for a rimless, it was the best choice given that i have very high ceilings, mounting wise. my tank is 24 inches deep and PAR hasn't depreciated.

I am super stoked on my Razor. I went with the 27" 16k for my 40 breeder and could not be happier. This pic is at about 30%/50%, fixture is 10" above the water line.

how high is your tank? is the 350 par reading on the bottom, the bottom of a 30 inch tank, a 24inch tank or a 18 inch tank. would make a difference wouldn't you think???
