I set up a 50 gal with HOB, heater, powerhead, PVC fittings, airstone, ammonia alert badge. Also set up a 30 gal with HOB, heater, PVC fittings, airstone, ammonia alert badge. They both got good doses of biospira for the past 2 days and sponges seeded from the DT. I have a long list of treatments waiting for possible problems. Today I put a PBT, Achilles, and Dejardini into the 50 gal. I put a total of 7 anthias (2 squami, 3 dispar, 2 threadfin) into the 30 gal. I fed this afternoon and all fish are eating except 1 dispar. I should be able to get him eating in the next couple days. I'll be documenting my QT in the thread. Hopefully it can help someone in the future.

Feeding went well this morning. All the fish ate one food or another. Fed the anthias cyclops, live brine, and spirulina mysis. The tangs ate live brine and seaweed pellets, no interest in the nori on the glass. I'll give them another day to get adjusted before I start any treatment. The PBT seems to be going crazy already pacing back and forth across the back of the tank. The Achilles is shy not sure if something is wrong or if he is undersized by the PBT. I'll keep an eye on that.

Multiple feedings today. Trying to fatten them up. Just the one anthia not eating yet. He'll come around. The Achilles is still very shy. But he is the smallest in the tank so thats understandable. He was eating, but appeared to spit most stuff out. I did notice that he didnt spit out any of the spirulina mysis. So thats a win. I'll give them one more day before meds.

My big question is... should I start copper/CP at the low salinity or bring the salinity up? I know that something will show itself once the salinity comes up

Don't take what I do as fact. I'm documenting so people can see the good and the bad. Hopefully help someone avoid a problem in the future

Considering I didn't qt at all and lost 9 out of 13 fish to velvet, I can only learn and go up! All remaining fish in qt now for 30 days, and tank fallow for 76.

I wouldn't start copper/CP until you hit at least 1.015.

2 feedings today. All the tangs ate well. 1 Anthia still not eating. I have been letting some water evaporate to bring the salinity up. The tanks are now at 1.019 for salinity. I did a 50% water change today and kept the salinity there. I dosed the tang tank with 60mg/gal of CP. The Anthia tank will go another couple days, trying to get the one fish to eat. He is out and active just hasn't liked my offerings

Anthias and CP do not always mix well. It is better to treat them with chelated copper (Coppersafe) until more experimentation can be done.

Did a water change in both tanks today, about 75%. Over the week I've got the salinity up to 1.020, I'll keep it there until QT is complete. All the fish are active and looking good. 1 anthia still not eating, I'm still trying. The Achilles has a ripped fin at the end of his dorsal down by his tail. I hope it's not a problem. He is the smallest in the tank but I haven't seen bullying. So far so good

This morning I noticed the Achilles fin is a little worse. I started adding some kanaplex+focus to the tang food. They are in CP I'm hesitant to add antibiotics to the water.

Feeding it in his food is less likely to help with an external infection. As long as you have plenty of air exchange, it's fine to use kanaplex with CP in the water.
