Let QT begin!

Trouble has started!!! Came inside to feed and the powder brown has some spots and as breathing heavily. I didn't notice it this morning. FW bath coming soon.....

The fresh water dip didn't reveal anything. Now he is sitting in a corner breathing rapidly.

@Fishfinder I can't tell for sure from the photos what those white spots are. Looks sorta like ich, but I can't be sure.

@Humblefish He's not doing really good, I'm not sure what the problem is. Just sitting in one spot breathing heavy. I started NFG AND still running CP. I'd like to get through at least 14 days. I'm not sure if it's a disease problem or CP intolerance

I would do a large WC to take all the meds out and then reassess the situation. Or better yet, transfer him into a clean QT with no meds.

I have been at work since the last post. I just got home. The tangs have been in CP and NFG. The powder brown looks much better. Not sure what helped, but he's much happier. I'll assess his white spots and appetite shortly. As far as the other tank goes.... all anthias are eating and finishing second round of prazi. Going good.

Keep the NFG going for at least 10-14 days.

I had to stop NFG. 3 of the 4 fish didn't eat today. 3 separate feedings. Did a 90% water change. I'm still running CP going to try and get them through 14 days.

The anthias tank is doing great. 7 anthias all eating like pigs. Just finished 2nd round of prazi

Because I am constantly curious. Why? and What is the difference? Thank you Humblefish

Because Prazipro contains Oxybispropanol (a solubilizing agent) and that doesn't always play nice with other meds. Powder praziquantel doesn't contain this, but the downside is it's more difficult to dissolve in water. You have to put it in a fine mesh/brine shrimp net, so it can slowly be expressed into the water. Or dissolve it in a cup beforehand.

Thank you!!! The more I read your posts , the more I learn.

Today's update- nothing remarkable about the anthia tank. Prazi is done, everyone looks healthy and eating.
The tangs are good for the most part. All except the powder brown. He is more active than the past couple of days but he still has white spots and his tail is bad. He is also breathing heavy. Still going with the CP.

I know. But as soon as I put the NFG in all the fish stopped eating. I wish I had another tank to isolate him.

Lesson 1: Either QT fish by themselves or have multiple 5-10gal tanks ready for sick treatment

Today's update: The powder brown looks "better". He is not even close to great but today he is eating. The rips in his dorsal fin are healing. The rot in his tail hasn't worsened, but hasn't improved. He still has white spots but they are lightening up. The other tangs seem completely normal. No problems with any of them.

I've started copper in the anthias tank. I'll raise it slow over a couple days. They are all fine. Justt double checking but there is 25gal water volume. That will be 50ml of coppersafe total??? Correct?
