lets talk tangs

I have a 120 gal tank. I have a Powder Blue, a Purple tang, and an Atlantic Tang. Each one takes turns with their aggression but neither of them is the boss of the tank. Pretty much harmony. The Purple tang was the first in the tank, then the Atlantic and finally the Powder Blue. I had added a Clown tang the same time as the Powder Blue but it starved itself to death.....

I have a powder blue and he is evil. Goes after any new fish in the tank. He has killed 2 copperbands and a carpenter wrasse. Neither of which share his food source. Its such a love hate relationship because he is so nice looking but at the same time he is a bully. I have a 105 gallon tank, so I will not be adding another tang as that would not be enough room. Im already pushing it with the PB.

I have a purple, sailfin, yellow, hippo and Tomini. I took the sailfin out for two weeks and put in quarantine prior to getting my purple, which was the last one I put in. Then I put them both in at the same time. There's never a fight.

same question for you the purple doesn't pick on the other two, and are territorys guarded?
The purple was first in the tank (nistake, I know) and each time I added a new tang I had to banish the purple to the sump for a week. No problems at all since. But this video really says a lot.

blues seem mean from what im hearing....:/

We have 1 scopas tang in our 30 gallon. Great job eating algae.

Eventually when we upgrade the 125g to the 180g, we plan on getting a purple tang, atlantic blue, and a yellow eyed kole tang.

When I put my Powder blue in the purple tang and atlantic blue both went after it. I taped a mirror to the tank and they both fought with themselves for about an hour lol. after that no problems.

I would love a chevron and achillies tang...but for now we will stick with the three that Sass mentioned (yellow eye kole, atlantic blue, and purple)

i dont think an achillies tang would make it in a 125. they stress very easily. the smallest tank ive seen success in is a 210. even then it had stress spots all the time. JMO

That list is for when we upgrade to the 180. However, I would agree with what you said about the achillies...so we will be sticking with the three that Nichole mentioned.

I've seem AT's in a 70 gallon cube and 100 gallon tank doing very well with no spots at all. Some of the healthiest I've seen. He's actually in our club but likes to keep his secrets. Lol.

Any other fish or tangs, or is it alone?

Actually this gentleman had both a 70 cube and the 100 gallon tank and two Achilles. Yes it was housed with many other fish. Clowns, other tangs as well
