Im changing one of my tanks over to have only nems and clowns.
Maybe a few soft coral that are easy but nothing crazy.
I want to focus on the nems with the lights.

Its a standard 29 gallon tank so 30 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 12 front to back.

I would like a few doffernt nems in it but mostly bubbles. Maybe some rocks or others who knows.

Let me know what you all think.

175w halides and a chiller.
T5s would also do for me.
Grandis.

That's the same size as my nem tank I use one hydra 26 HD they love it, $ expensive initially but no heat to deal with and saves on electricity.

I have 30” across my corner tank, and if I could do it again. I would have bit the bullet and bout Kessils. By far the best shimmer on the market, and if you get the controller you can like them all together and play around with the settings. They also are able to meet the par range that you need for the anemone tank, as well as have great color mix.

Here's a photo of Joe Yaiullo's anemone tank. Although he uses (at least when I visited) metal halide lamps, the lighting source doesn't matter all that much (within reason.) He let me take some light measurements while I was there. Notice the color differences. So, I won't make a specific light recommendation, I can help with intensity. That's a woman and child in the lower right.

Halaides are not going to do it for me sadly.
I would love to do all halides because iv just wanted to try them but i dont habe the space for a chiller.

I was thinking about another hydra 26 but i want to do something different. I habe 2 hydras on my mixed reef.
Also a radion xr30 on my frag tank and a kessil on my 15 gallon zoa tank.

I just need to make up my mind. I was hooing this would help but it seems like it may be worse now haha

So 450 at the top?
That seems high i run my SPS at 200 at the top.
I am about to add t5s to it tho so that will jump it up for sure.

450 at the top is high, as we see bleaching of the orange fluorescent pigment within the anemone. 150 PAR seems to be working well, though.

You know thats kinda what i was thinking was t5.
Maybe a 3 bulb fixture?

You can go four bulb over a 29. I picked up a t5 labeled for plants for about $75 and switched the bulbs out. Put it on a simple outlet timer and good to go.

The best thing about a t5 is you can't really mess with it. All these controllable LED lights are nice, but if you keep messing with the settings the corals/nems or anything dependent on light never get fully adjusted and settled in.

I have one rbta in my 200g, I run these old marineland "reef" lights and it does fine. Hasn't moved since it was added, and eats a whole shrimp twice a week.

Then get the best T5 fixture you can afford covering the whole top of the tank.
Depending on where you live you'll need a chiller anyway.

Avoid feed it too much. Once a week is already a lot. That will depend on the size of the shrimp too.

Then i may just have to go with LED. I cant get a chiller.
I may need to get an AI Hydra 26 and just call it done.
I just really wanna try a new one.

It will be plugged in to my Apex so thats not a big deal.

I run a 4 bulb fixture from Home Depot LOL
It’s been running for 3 1/2 years now! Corals love it only cost me 90 bucks minus bulbs. I had a kessil that I added to my tank for my sps, about 6 months ago! But I’ve always used T5HO
