So I picked up two little clowns today at my LFS and I have got to say I have never seen any clowns that were for sale at this size. Right now they are going threw the drip accliacclimation but as soon as the are done I will post some pictures for you guys to check out. I'm just wondering how old the little fellas actually are..

In the last picture I put in a extra crab shell just for size comparison.. how old do you guys think the little guys are?

And it is finally good to see some SC people in here. I was wondering where all you guys were hiding at.. lol

gotta be less than a year old at that size should be awesome to watch them grow up

I was thinking the same thing exactly. I'm putting them in my new nano that just got done cycling a few weeks back. So they are gonna have all 30 gallons to their cute little butts until I get me an anemone for it. So excited to watch the grow and develop personality from that age.

At that size what do you guys think I should be feeding them? I alternate between mysis and pellet/flake in my FOWLR bit those fish are bigger and were bigger when I get them. Which do you think I should start them out with? I didn't think to ask the guy at the store because I had a 2 hour ride home and it was getting late on me. I can always call tomorrow but I wanted to try and give them a little something tonight so that they know I'm the guy that will take care of them. That's just something I've always done with my fish.. I know it's weird. Hahaha

id use the flake food because any fish at any size can consume flakes pellets might be too large for them unless they are nano sized but if they were not raised on it they won't go for it initially frozen is more natural and has so many small particles they can easily get to

I bought my black ice clowns and the smaller one was about that size. I feed them mysis and rods eggs. I think they are both big enough to eat pellets now. The little one use to grab the pellets and hold it in his mouth for awhile.

When I first got them, I noticed they would pick at my pods so I wasn't worried about them eating.

Yeah, my worry is that right now they are the only thing in the tank. Lol, other than LR and LS that is. So I gotta make sure they are eating a little something. I was really planning on getting some Wyoming whites but I couldn't say no to these little guys. Plus I am a huge Clemson fan so anything orange is always welcome in my house.. [emoji106]

Nice. What were they being fed at the lfs? Flakes should be easy to break up for their size.

I use to go to Clemson. Haven't been back in several years.

Idk what they were eating at the LFS. I forgot to ask before I left.. I was trying to find out temp, ph, salinity, and whatever else popped I my head and forgot food, lol. I will call tomorrow and see what they were feeding.

I love going to Clemson, absolutely beautiful up there. I used to go to football and baseball game all the time. However once I joined the military and left I just never for back into going. Having a wife and kid slowed me down a bit also. Now it is a wife and two sons.. lol

It is always good to find out salinity. Sometimes they are kept in coral sections at the lfs so it will be around 1.024 but sometimes they are kept fish only at a much lower salinity.

Im not too thrilled with the 3hr drive. I did it enough times when I was there that the drive became too familiar, likely dangerous. The upstate is very nice for outdoor activities though. I haven't really left here for awhile except for work or vacay to Washington.

For those of you that are watching and made suggestions on dinner for the litter clowns. Music shrimp was a success. I just cut a tiny sliver of it off the cube, turned the gyre on feed mode and plopped it in. They have been staying at the bottom of the tank for the last hour or so but once the shrimp got down to them they started eating and moved to the top for the rest if it. Tomorrow they will get a proper feeding.. thanks again for the help..

I go to Charleston a good bit. I have some friends that moved down there a few years back. It just seems extremely hot and muggy down there. To much so for me... Which is odd when I'm only an hour and some change away. Hahah
