Little clowns...

I have a tiny Lighting under an inch, I feed both flakes broken up in to tiny pieces and frozen that is a mix of meat and phyto, I feed roughly 3 times a day. When small they use a ton of calories worrying about bigger fish and competing for food and swimming against the current typical in reef tanks. I would say yours are roughly 4-6 months old.

So I have decided to move a couple of my tiny nasarrius snails over to this tank from my FOWLR. Since the salinity in the FOWLR is 1.023/1.024 I am having to drip acclimate them before going into this tank. It runs 1.026 constantly as it has my tunze osmolator ATO on it.[emoji106]

For some reason this tank has taken a special place with me so I am being extra cautious with it. As we speak Bonnie and Clyde are trying figure out why there is a tuna stuck inside there home. Hahaha

Thanks Tahoe61, I appreciate the input. I have also been feeding these two of mine several times a day. That's why I'm moving over a few nasarrius snails to help keep up with the leftovers. I have a 2 month old in the house right now so I know how much babies eat, lol. So I have been trying to make sure they had plenty of food to keep them going. As you stated about them worrying about other fish.. that is one reason they got put into this new tank of mine. They were originally ment for the FOWLR until I seen how small they were compared to the other fish.

Hahaha, that's exactly what I named my black ocelaris pair... those two are inseparable. Bonnie is 3" and Clyde is around 2 1/2". Sadly, I no longer have the eel in this pic. He went carpet surfing in QT during treatment for a velvet outbreak. Where abouts in SC are you located? I'm in Lugoff.

I will try to post up an image of my Lighting and the White Strip Maroon I am trying to pair the Lighting with. The White Stripe is small about an inch and the Lighting is smaller. The White Stripe has been on time out in acclimating twice now and knock on wood they appear for now to be civil to each other, so much attitude in such small fish.
Any who, Cyclopezz was a perfect for small clowns when you could get it. Small clowns need more food than the average fish and it can be difficult to choose the right size of food.

I am in Cheraw, SC. Not all that far from you I don't believe. I am kinda in a good location because I can get to fish stores in Columbia, Myrtle Beach, or Charlotte NC in an hour and a half to two hours

Cheraw is about an hour up Highway 1 from me. I'm just over a mile away from I20, so quick access to Columbia. There are three pretty good reef stores in Columbia. Aquarium Specialty has the best selection and prices on corals, and its the closest, not so much on fish. Last I was in there they were still getting the very small fish system put together. Fishy Buisness has a bunch of stock but I've just not gotten the friendly vibe when I go in there. Palmetto Reef has the most diverse selection and claims that everything in the store is for sale and if he doesn't have it he can get it. It's a bit of a drive for me, he's in West Columbia and I have to cut thru Columbia to get to him. Worth it for the live rock tho, big tub of cured stuff for $6/lb. I wish there were more close by, mightg make a trip to Charlotte or Charleston if you have any suggestions, I'm within 2 hours from both.

Myrtle Beach has a little hole in the wall place called Sea Critters that is nice. It doesn't look like much but it's a one person deal. He owns it, runs it, the whole 9 yards. I think he told me he had been doing it for about 30 years last time I talked to him. As for Charlotte (really it's in Matthews) these is a store called Nemos Reef and it is a great store. They have everything reef related from livestock to tanks and everything else. I went up there A few months back and Red Sea was up there doing a promotional thing. Even gave away a few Red Sea Reefers.. of course I never win anything. That's gonna be where I do the majority of my business for me tanks from now on.

I'll have to check out Nemo's Reef when I'm shopping for a new tank. I'm wanting to set up at least a 120 gallon next year. Got a little nook next to my fireplace(unused, it's SC...) that's just over 5' wide. It's got my 14g nano in there now but it's begging for a big tank. Where about is Sea Critters in Myrtle Beach? My Dad has a vacation house in Cherry Grove that I go to occasionally.

@Lance M. I've used it a few times but the previous owner must have burned tar in it from the looks of the creosote buildup... haha, I smoked out my house once and havent used it since. I have natural gas heat so I dont really need it. Besides with the tank right there I don't want any chance of overheating it.

No problem. If your not looking for it you will miss it, lol. It is right in front of a bunch of mini storage buildings and doesn't have a flashy sign or anything like that. Very easy to miss, I rode past it twice before I realized it was there. He did tell me to call before I came up there because he does a lot of aquarium maintenance and sometimes has to rush out for emergencies

My little clown was super tiny when I purchased her. I have had her a little over a month and she still is only about an inch long. I feed flakes in the morning and frozen in the evenings. She loves the Nutromar ova that I feed to my mandarin as well as the frozen spirulina brine shrimp. I'm waiting for her to get bigger so I can get her a mate. Do you have a cuc in the tank? If not you might want to get a few to help eat up the food your clowns don't.

My Princess Leia. BTW. I added a fake anemone and she started hosting it on day two. Sleeps there every night.

I recognize that anemone..
If your clowns act like this maroon "lil' dude" does.. it will be pulled out and moved.. moved often..

I'm sure that will happen. She's a silly little fish. No telling what trouble she will get herself into when she gets bigger.
