Luke's 20 tall mixed reef

Too hard to tell from your picture. Its way to blurry. But i'd imagine its algae

I think you're right. It's soft like hair algae but almost white.

I added my other powerhead this morning. They are pointing directly at each other just under the overflow. I like the new flow pattern. It swirls around the rock formations now. Before it swirled around the outer edges of the tank.

My goby comes out and seems happy. I still haven't seen the firefish inside or outside the tank. Maybe I'll dig around the rock structures again.

i think that firefish are 50/50. I've had ones that were always timid, rarely out and about, and usually ended up dead or just jumping out. I've also had ones that are out and about, hard to scare, and never had an issue. I strongly feel that these fish are best kept in numbers. I think there is courage in numbers and they are more comforitable that way. I could be wrong, but i never really had great luck with these fish until i started keeping a group.

It defiantly has be rethinking my choice to buy one. I'm not going to add any fish for quite a while.

The new skimmer seems to be broken in now. I'm thinking about adding a shrimp next. I'm debating which one.

Do you have it narrowed down to any? I personally like the common cleaner shrimp. They don't hide all the time like some and always come and investigate your hand whenever you are working in there.

That's what I was thinking about adding. I also like the sexy and decorators but I don't know a lot about them. I want something that stays visible because I'm tired of looking at rocks.

Sea Storm by Sealife Systems. My buddy won it in a raffle and sold it to me pretty cheap. It's an older design but it seems to be working. The footprint could be smaller.

I bought a couple Oscellaris Clowns, Zoas, Rics and 2 Tiny SPS frags today. I hind my light and I'm really happy with it. I tried to correct the color in this iPhone picture to get it closer to reality.

Awesome start Luke! I look forward to some close ups once the corals settle in a bit. Nice clowns too!

Everything is opening up. I'll have to do some research on how to get a decent picture with my iPhone.

I haven't updated in a while because I was busy hunting down inexpensive frags.

Here are some crappy iPhone pics.
