We recently added a Penn-Plax Silent Air B11 battery backup air pump to the tank. It plugs into an AC outlet and will turn on in the event of a power outage. The pump runs on 2 D batteries and will provide aeration for almost 5 days. We purchased ours for $14.99 from
Pet Mountain. We use them on all of our tanks.

We elected to swap out the clear air line tubing and air stone that came with it for black tubing and a grey ball shaped air stone as they blend in better.
We mentioned in an earlier post that we replaced the tank mount for our Panorama fixture for the much sturdier stand mount. There's not a lot of room behind the stand, so we couldn't get a great pic, but you get the idea:
The white wire hanging out is an infrared sensor for one of the Panorama RGB modules. We wanted to control the two separately, so the other is inside of the stand:
We've been seeing a large number of little white critters on the glass - too small to identify until we pulled out the microscope. Turns out they are baby starfish:
And a few "eye candy" macro shots:
And of course no tank is complete without some type of wrasse. He's a little camera shy right now, so this is the best pic I could get:

The Royal flasher seems very content for now and with 2 sq ft to move around he doesn't appear to be cramped. We may move him to the big tank later, but for now he's happy where he is.
