Whoa sorry to hear hopefully your tank has a good turnaround. Did you lose the frags that I sent out to you?

I am still changing water, got 3 QT tanks going, and am trying to work through all the madness. I've lost about 40 frags (all LE tenius's, pink limeage, pink lemonade, pm, lime in the sky colony I grew from a nub!!!, echi's, granny's, and exquisitor)
I don't know about you guys, but I get attached to some of the pieces I have "babied" and grown from nothing! I am soooooo bumbed.
I am keeping positive though about the stuff that I hopefully saved and caught in time.
This could have been about a 8k-10k disaster if I didn't watch my tank so closely and figure it out that something was wrong - not just a couple corals that touched and died. So I am happy about that.
All my fish are doing good - Lineatus pair, mystery, fijian scotts, yellow-flanked, picasso's, helfichi pair, purple tang, foxface, and a watchman.
I would have been devistated if they died!!!!!!!!!!
I'll get things under control here soon hopefully!

I treat the tank like a scientific bio-tope, I use gloves, tongs, test, watch, ect. and one time I get stupid and this happens!!! arrrggggg

Well it looks like it was probably the chloramine/chlorine or SOMETHING in the water or sand.
All my inverts look okay, my nems' are looking good, last crocea is pi$$ed but okay. None of my zoo's are open, but that is to be expected.
Still working through it. I have been up testing every 4 hours and making water - changing it out on the QT tanks, ect. ect. ect.
What a pain.......
Could be worse though. So I am thankful I caught it in time...

You have my sympathy...I'm right there with you on how it feels when you grow something from a nub only to find it gone for unknown reasons. LMK when you get things back to right and I will send you a frag pack of some of the SPS I have in my tank, including honeycomb montipora, pink digi and a nice rainbow digi. I could probably be talked into sending you a couple polyps of that People eater paly you commented on :bigsmile: Since I've been there it's the least I can do for a fellow reefer. People were kind to me when I lost a WHOLE tank while on vacation in 2004..nothing lived thru that and I would like to pass the kindness on....

Thanks - I definetely appreciate it. That is what I love about this hobby - cool people helping out when things go south.
That is also why I usually hook my buddies up - to share the luv and incase something like this happens!
I have some pink zipper PPE's I just picked up too. I don't know the real name yet but they look insane. I'll post some pics when I get my frag tank setup or whatever direction I end up going to QT my frags until the display gets back to normal.

hmm...Sweet!
I went back to find this thread to see how long its been since the crash.
All-in-all I lost ~75 pieces, ~5 Chalices, a clam, and last but not least I lost a Lineatus pair, mystery wrasse, and borbonius
Jeff - Think I only lost the mindtrick I picked up from you. I am still checking all my chalices and documenting.
Rik - Lost everything I got from you except the maldivencis (sp?) OF COURSE - since all the other pieces were sik!!! Girl-X is doing good and coloring up now and looking AWESOME!
Parameters have been stable for ~ 3 weeks, and everything is doing good - including 2 nems (Rose and Bi-color bubbles)
The wife put me on a buying ban till the end of summer - she's not too thrilled with the amount of time and $ that I put into it - then lost suddenly! Which is understandable.....
Luckily I had 3 orders on hold and are coming in now
No sps - but slowly I'll build it up again...
If anybody wants to trade - all I have is some Pink Zipper PE's that are sik looking. I have everything to send them out - probably 5-10polyps each. I am going to try and get a picture today.
So now it is back to watching everything grow :nerd:
