Still not sure what happened. Po4, NO3, no4, calc, dkh, mag, ph, and sal are all good

Chlorine is possible since I used hose water to wash the sand out.

Not sure what has made it since the stuff I tried to save is stacked like tetris pieces in one of my QT tanks.

Off to get a poly filter here soon. Still making up h20 right now.

Man that blows!! Hopefully you can save all of what's left. Was it live sand and there was Die off on the sand and live rock? You don't have ammonia listed under those param's up top. I would try and get carbon running on it and get a bottle of that live bacteria and put some of it in to help rebuild the system quicker. Had that happen on a 40G breeder frag tank and i threw in some bacteria and started running pura-complete on it and it fixed whatever spiked and killed off some frags. Good Luck though

Thanks - yeah NH3 is 0 too.

A crocea, bubble tips, and some other stuff looks okay. So I am hoping it is something simple or something I missed.
A spike of something I couldn't catch would be the best at this point.

Just tested again in case I missed something in the frenzy last night -

Ammonia spike - ~ 2 right now.

Tons of carbon, water change coming again...

Any other suggestions...

At least it is something I can turn back around and I know the problem now.

No chance of hydrogen sulfide contamination? Doesn't take much to spoil a tank.

Anything is possible at this point. I am treating it as such.
Making water now to do at least a 50% (90g), have a bunch of carbon it it, skimming wet...praying....!!!

We'll see how it pans out. Kinda out of my hands now. I am doing the best I can to mitigate the damage...
Thanks for the support! I know you guys know the pain involved...


And to think I use tongs, gloves and am very meticulous when it comes to being extra careful about water contamination, miss one thing and it can go downhill fast...

Wow, I'm sorry to hear of your crash. It always hurts when you lose corals. I know we all are so careful with our tanks and when something like this happens, it's really hard. Any chance some of your livestock died and caused the crash initially? Did you change or add something recently such as additives, food?

All livestock was in QT
THAT is a blessing!!!

I keep good notes on my tank - only thing added was sand and a piece of LR

Sorry to hear this as well for you. I had a major tank crash back in Sept and lost all my acros. I was thankful all my chalices made it.
