Mallette's Sumpless 55G

@Brew12 @mdbannister thanks for the compliments! I cant take the credit for the pics since my coral have been super cooperative lately. And youd never believe me if i said that was a 1 out of 1 shot of the Powder Brown when i was trying to get a pic of the lobo behind it. dang camera auto focus lol

This may or may not end well. But my attempt at getting my Pavona to grow as a nice green shag carpet on my tanks bottom glass appears to be working. Now to keep it from connecting to my rockwork, if anyone has any suggestions im open to trying whatever.

Hi Brett, great looking tank. What are you using for filtration since you do not have a sump? I am setup similarly to you and I use a Remora Aqua C skimmer with a Aquatop 525 gph canister filter. I run filter pads only in my canister and change monthly and use carbon and gfo as needed.

I run a jebao pp8 for flow maxed out in else mode. With a fluval in tank skimmer. If i notice too many particles in the water will put a carbon or white filter pad around my pp8 for a day or 2

Thanks all for the compliments! If anyone has any questions dont be shy. Im open to anything and everything and will try and do a good overview of my tank tonight to try and give more details.

Tank turns 5 months old on the 12th of January and im hoping to be doing a trip to my closest lfs(4 hour roundtrip) to get some more coral soon. Need to get my fix[emoji14]havent bought any new ones in what feels like years but in reality has only been a month lol

Tank has been in easy mode now for a while. I realized today i havent tested anything since thr 20th. So i will have to do that in the near future. Holidays and work have gotten the better of me lately. I really need to clean my skimmer. And my acclimatiom box for my wrasse is starting to get pretty funky. I decided after 2 weeks and no signs of any infections or disease to rig his tank into my main display using a marina breeders box and a 40gph pump istead of an air pump. He seems happy. But as others have told me through other threads i need to let his pectoral fin heal or my motley crew of fish will lay a beat down on him. Hes super friendly. But hates the shine of my phone so pics are impossible without handling him.

I also found about 15 what ive been told are corynactis or pseudocorynactis aka ball anemones in some of my rock. So for now im going to let the lil guys munch away on the detritus that accumulates in their corner. Might b a decent substitution for my lack of sandbed so cant rly get any good sand dwelling detrivores.

Just realized i never posted my lighting schedule.

Im running 1 hydra 26HD for now. Dont have enough rock or coral to warrant a second just yet.

I hate fragging things. Im very undecided whether i should trim my Hollywood Stunner or simply rearrange to give it more space. I dont want to screw with its nice plating look so far...

And just to show what different lighting can do in your tank. First pic is high up in the tank directly under my Hydra. And second is the mother colony off to the right not under any direct lighting. Pics taken with Samsung S7 in Pro mode. 10k white balance. And ISO at 50. Everything else in auto.
