Mallorie and Matt's Nano in 90 Build Thread!

Thank you!

Did a big 5 gallon WC today and siphoned out a lot of hair algae that is growing on the sand bed. Trying to get the salinity up so I can put my torch coral in. It was at 1.022 before the water change and it's at 1.024 now.

Also, I hate these 5 or 6 hermits in my 120 because they always attack my nassarius snails so I took them out and threw them into the 20. I kind of wanted them to die but they are eating away at all of the HA now so that's a good thing. They are coming out as soon as they are done and going to the LFS.

Also, made my order at Reef Cleaners. I ordered:
20 Dwarf Ceriths
15 Nassarius vibex
4 scarlet leg hermits
5 virgin nerites
5 medium nerites

Not all of them will go into the 20. I will put some of the nassarius snails into the 120 and maybe some of the dwarf ceriths because I always get a ton of snails from Reef Cleaners even if I only ordered 20. Last time I believe I got 75 dwarf ceriths when I ordered 20. lol!

Hopefully I can get the rest of my rock here soon. A local guy has some he's holding for me but trying to find the time to meet him is difficult to say the least.

Got my shipment today from Reef Cleaners! Amazing as always. I added to the nano:
3 Scarlet leg hermits
85+ dwarf ceriths
20 nassarius vibex
4 virgin nerites
5 medium nerites
and 1 existing blue leg hermit

I will also add tonight a frag of zoanthids from my tank which are low quality IMO.

No name zoas: 20 polyps at $2 pp= $40

Can't wait to see some pics w/livestock!

I'm going to probably post tomorrow with pictures because I'm dipping the zoas in Revive right now to kill some stupid red flatworms. They probably won't open up tonight to take pics but if they do, I will post them! :)

Pictures! Yay!

Receipt for my torch which is still healing in my 120.

Zoas I added yesterday- $40? I guess? I didn't pay anything for them so I hate taking $40 out of my budget. :(

Yep! I got her. She's doing great! Hangs out with my female Hawaiian Flame wrasse all of the time and she came up to the glass today to beg for food and check me out. That's a big improvement from her first two days when she hid everytime something moved.

Thanks! I will be ordering some more rock next Friday from Reef Cleaners. They clean the rock so it's ready to put in when I get it. I plan on making a mountain in the center of the tank with an island on each side. :)

Going to have to show her off in your other thread ;) Happy that she is doing well.

I will definitely get a picture of her for my 120 build thread. :D

No, not a mohawk. I got it at the LFS in there cheap section and it grows like a weed! It's really supposed to be pink but it changed colors when I put it into my 120.

So I did a 5 gallon water change last night. Salinity is up to 1.024. One more water change should get it where it needs to be. :) I scrubbed off the ha from the glass with a toothbrush. I also added two more zoa frags that weren't doing well in my 120 because it's geared towards lps and sps.

I also have a frag of Cpt America palys- $15 total for 3 polyps I don't have a picture of them yet. I don't know why I didn't take one.

Nice start Mallorie. BTW, 20 dollars for the torch frag is a bit pricy, isn't it? Here in Canada, we got a nice decent frag for $10. A full colony of this cost me 40 dollars. I always think its much cheaper to buy stuff in the US. However, by look at others shopping list, we definitely get a much better deal.
