Many SPS turning Green??? Whats your vote?

Mostly effecting Pinks. Have it down to the following:

1. Too much blue spectrum light?
2. Not enough light? or too much light?
3. Nutrients related? (Currently Po4 0.08 , No3 3ppm)

Iron has been ruled out. Whats got your vote?

To repeat the experiment, I extended the peak time in my 30 gal and got 5 green acros.

Right now I'm running a peak at 320 Par, for about 2- 3 hrs. Total light cycle is 10 hrs.

Hour 0-2 / starts at 40 par ands at 100 par.
Hour 2-4 / starts at 100 par ends at 250 par.
Hour 4-6 / peaks at 320 Par (highest Coral in the tank)
Hour 6-8 / 250 Par to 100 Par
Hours 8-10 / 100 Par to 40 Par

with that in mind, I recently had a Po4 spike from 0.0, and recently shifted my spectrum more blue.

Par has been relatively consistent for a while and this is a recent development. I'm definitely not ruling out the lights need to come down. It also seems to be effecting corals from the sand to the top of the tank.

Could it be the spectrum, and can PO4 cause this same effect? Do any corals turn green for new growth and acclimation to new conditions then color back up to the original coloration?
 
So your experiment shows the more light (intensity x duration) the more green?

See I've actually read the opposite on Millie's and acros, when your pulling out pinks and blues it's often too little light.

I'm losing some of my pinks, so honestly I'm thinking my best bet at this point is to actually crank up the whites at peak. I'd like the corals at the highest point in the tank to hit 350 par minimum, but am raising it very very slowly over time.

Something the 350 par thing doesn't talk about is the different clades of corals from different depths.

Fwiw are you using the seney. I'm not 100% convinced about their pur calculations and I may ask about that next.

The bottom corals the Ricordia are at the bottom of my tank btw. The back one is in the shade. Most all of my corals are uneffected including the zoas and Xenia growing out of the water at the top.
 
Pink Millie 315 Par top of the tank, Vivids delight 160 Par samdbed. PC Rainbow 250 Par. Gonzos Blueberry 200 Par. I place corals based on Par requirements. It's effecting corals top to bottom.

The color shift is parrallell with a rise in nutrients, specifically po4, and a shift to a more blue color spectrum.

I've had the lights toned down until I was able to get the nutrients up, I should be able to raise the lights without anything bleaching at this point with everything measurable. So I raised it up a bit on the blue spectrum (3%) Now Greens are coming through.

So it could go either way, going into the question
Though, lowering the lights was the least likely candidate in my mind.

Because I've got corals in very low light doing the same thing as the ones up top.

So it's rise in nutrients = needs more light.
Or more blue light causing green in my mind.

I should have plenty of room on the peak Par values right now though.

I'm not a fan of changeing things more than one at a time. It hard to diagnose
I've been following the greening thing a while now.

I don't belive I've heard of Po changing a singular color before Esp in the greening.

I should have plenty of room on my

I'm going from a similar lighting setup with pale colors not shifting to green with 0.0 Po4 and .5ppm NO3.

Now it's at 0.08 PO4 and 3-4 ppm NO3. I've seen a lot of colors coming back and coming back strong, Some of the corals are instead shifting to green.

Think step one is im just going to crank up my whites and see what effect that has.

Seriously though any other thoughts on this are definitely welcome. And @saltyfilmfolks I may be high tailing it back down as quick as I raised them up.

Forgot to answer this It's an apogee 520
 
It's possible that the change in lighting is affecting it. Are you dosing trace elements? Sometimes too much of that can change the color of corals. It has happened to me and I believe it is because I changed my 2-part to ESV without compensating for the trace elements supplied within. I believe I overdosed Red Sea abcd. Luckily, it was only one sps coral ( a millepora). Was purple and turned green from the bottom up. May have been too much iron but it was one of my oldest corals and closest to the top of the tank. I also saw a spike in my calcium for some reason. Was dosing the same amount but seems as if my uptake was not the same.

But it is a crops question for sure.

One other odd note, most leds have a native color temp. Like 14 and 16 k to allow the choice to increase it to more.
When a lot of folks go extreme blue imo it's a lot more than 20k. Also many of those colors as far as I can tell are not in the natural environment in those amounts. You can't see this in a par reading. My color temp meter gets an error when temping almost all of my leds at the native colors , except for the simple current orbit marine. It temps at 20k on the nose.

Hmmm I actually use Red Sea colors as well. How did you remedy that situation? Water changes? Discontinued dosing? Or...?

On my LED's I only run royal blue Really. I'm a professional photographer. I'd put the color at 50-60k.

I only really use the LED's for shimmer though. They account for about 30% of my total par values. Rest is T5.

T5 is definitely hitting these particular corals well. I think to start I'm going to stop dosing trace elements and Iron. And Extend my white peak by 20-30 mins.

Although I've been wanting to mess around with continuous light sources for a while!

It's easier now. They don't get as hot! Led! 28 to 6k with the turn of a knob!
 
Figured I'd give an update, stopped dosing Red Sea Trace Elements, and lengthened my white peak and have been seeing improvements. Can't be sure which of the two it was, going to increase the white peak by another 30 mins over the weekend.
