Many SPS turning Green??? Whats your vote?

There is a lot more "secret" to warmer spectrum that some people afraid of. If nutrients is no longer an issue for you, warmer spectrum will be the next component you can experiment with. Ask around, we have a lot of well informed reefers here who knows a lot about spectrum.

What temperature do you keep your tank, and how much volatility do you see?

FWIW....I have experienced the "hulk" syndrome (just made that up) before, and it has seemed to recover when I kept the tank at a cooler temperature. This led me to believe it was a stress response originally and then they recovered. I try to maintain temps below 78, and 80 as an absolute max.

It's possible that the change in lighting is affecting it. Are you dosing trace elements? Sometimes too much of that can change the color of corals. It has happened to me and I believe it is because I changed my 2-part to ESV without compensating for the trace elements supplied within. I believe I overdosed Red Sea abcd. Luckily, it was only one sps coral ( a millepora). Was purple and turned green from the bottom up. May have been too much iron but it was one of my oldest corals and closest to the top of the tank. I also saw a spike in my calcium for some reason. I was dosing the same amount but seems as if my uptake was not the same.

Interesting you say your Ca spiked... I recently noticed a similar situation. A few SPS (~280 PAR) went from purple, orange and blue to green when I started dosing the Red Sea coral food A, B daily + Tropic Marin A,K. My Ca went from 456 to 470. Since cutting back my AB to MWF the colors are coming back and slowly the ratio of Alk to Ca is coming back in line. Not sure if it is related, but I also changed from dosing in the evening (when the lights are off 10pm) to in the am (7am) so the corals can absorb during the day. I will keep you posted if I see a significant difference. When do you guys dose amino acids?

Interesting I have a pink milli that about 4" colony and I run led and T5 and colors were great dark pink Almost purple looking. and my P and N was 0 a d now my nutrients are up some brought them up slowly. my pink pink milli has started turning green mix now. IMO I think it's because I raised the Nutrients up some. Crazy IDK and my par at 250

This guy is sitting around 200 with Ai primes and very low N’s and P’s. When I slacked on water changes for a month and nutrients went up it started to green a little. Now it’s all back down low and getting pinker

I'm thinking nutrients what caused mine to get green. But I have other corals that done great bringing it up. Maybe now that nutrients is up. Maybe I need to bring up the par slowly.

I really don’t know for sure either way. I have a rainbow Mille that is starting to get red and orange colors on it as well as this pink one. They both look nice with lower nutrients but I also have a WD that is super greenish and slightly yellow but it was way more blue and yellow when the nutrients crept up slightly and the Mille where looking dark and green. I am lost sorry that does not help much. I did notice slight increase in pink and reds in all of my corals when I started dosing Nyos trace every couple weeks (it suggests every week). It is supposed to help the reds and violets. My K and Iron where always low

Here is the rainbow Mille and the WD. The Mille was asleep for several months and just exploded with new branches almost over night. It’s kinda hard to see the orange and red from the top. You can see on the WD it has encrusted like crazy but remains very green with slight yellow. I don’t think I throw enough par at the WD to get rid of the green though

I thought I did too it maybe I don't have enough. I have TSA Dipping Dots small colony on the sand bed and really nice colors.

Pink Millie 315 Par top of the tank, Vivids delight 160 Par samdbed. PC Rainbow 250 Par. Gonzos Blueberry 200 Par. I place corals based on Par requirements. It's effecting corals top to bottom.

The color shift is parrallell with a rise in nutrients, specifically po4, and a shift to a more blue color spectrum.

I've had the lights toned down until I was able to get the nutrients up, I should be able to raise the lights without anything bleaching at this point with everything measurable. So I raised it up a bit on the blue spectrum (3%) Now Greens are coming through.

So it could go either way, going into the question
Though, lowering the lights was the least likely candidate in my mind.

Because I've got corals in very low light doing the same thing as the ones up top.

So it's rise in nutrients = needs more light.
Or more blue light causing green in my mind.

I should have plenty of room on the peak Par values right now though.

I think higher nutrients cause the corals to turn neon green and purple.
