I litterally have the brick the slab and the balls i dont change juss rinse once or twice every 2 months, dosent reallly collect and ditritus i use it in every one of my tanks

When I looked into it I decided against it based on what Randy Holmes-Fairley said on another forum. High in aluminum iirc is what the Triton test showed. Many people use it and have successful tanks, I just decided against it. I'm sure you can google it and read the long thread about it.

Whats funny tho is zeolite witch is used in zeovit systems witch are yhe best nicest looking tanks your everyseen is made of aluminosilicate

thank you i never realized nor heard that before but i used to run zeovit and it contains almost the same makeup of materials ive ben using marine pure sence beggining of 2014 never tested for any metals , but just go with added live rock or maybe 10 bioballs prob be the same

Ohkieee got you

@Sabellafella any negative you ever encountered ?? Is the product working as they are claiming ??

I mean yea obviously it works but its not giving me negative nor positive affects its basically added if anyone would want a minimal aquascape in there tank with added filtration its really expensive tho

ohkieee gottchya... i ll also read the article by randy before jumping into it..

The aluminum thread was never directly linking it to marine pure. I have used it successfully on an sps tank. I love it because I can have a minimalistic looking tank and feel confident that I have tons of "live rock" I did soak mine in the seachem' starter bacteria I don't know if it did anything to soak it, but I feel it helped me jump start my aquarium

Aluminum silicate is a different material with different properties than aluminum oxide (which I tested), but still will dissolve to some extent, just as aluminum oxide does. That said, I've not tested MarinePure, but others with it in their tanks have detected elevated aluminum.

I'm not saying folks cannot use aluminum oxide or aluminum silicate products and have fine tanks.

What I am saying is that aluminum oxide is a source of aluminum, and if you have elevated aluminum or things that have been attributed to aluminum, such as closed leather corals, you might look to aluminum oxide products as a source. I'd also suggest that when you have alternatives, selecting a non-aluminum material may be a better option. :)

Thank you very mich :) i might drop the idea of using it .....

Anything else you suggest using instead of MarinePure ??

I have two of the blocks in my sump and I run a predominantly SPS tank with no water changes. My Triton results last year indicated I had a higher level of Aluminum (82.33 ug/l; setpoint 2.0 ug/l) in my system and I only had one block at that time. I added another block a couple months ago and I just sent of another Triton test a week ago so I hope to get those results back soon.

While I'm not talking a direct correlation yet, but if this result comes back screaming high for aluminum, I'm going to deduce it was the MarinePure blocks as I don't do water changes so the only other potential sources are the food, biopellets, GFO, GAC, Red Sea aminos, or topoff water... all of which I consider very unlikely sources.

@FarmerTy will be waiting for your Triton test result...

Why no waterchange ? any specific result ?
