Honestly, my aluminum results are only marginally higher than they were last year when I had already added my 1st block. With the addition of the 2nd block a month before these results, I'm hesitant to say that it really added much more aluminum to the system but there are too many data gaps to conclude that.

Either case, my SPS were not happy for about 2-3 weeks with the numbers on that Triton test so I did a large water change (150-200 gals) over a week and now everything is happy.

Great ..... I have added my block and been a week havent seen any changes as yet but havent seen any negative effects on my corals also.... Even softies and shrooms are doing great ....

So here are my thoughts:

1) I did have a higher amount of aluminum in 2014 after running just one marinepure ceramic block in the system. I never changed my water in any significant way from that point until right after the Triton results for 2015, so techinically, the levels shouldn't have changed much between results other than what has been uptaken by corals, macro, skimmed out, or bind to carbon or GFO.
2) I believe that the marinepure block did contribute to my aluminum levels.
3) I believe over the year between results that the aluminum level went down as I used GFO and it binded to it.
4) I added the 2nd block about 2 months back, about 1 month before the 2015 Triton results. I believe the aluminum level did go down over the year but adding the 2nd block bumped it back up to the previous year's levels.
5) I've never seen an effect I can contribute to higher aluminum levels directly.
6) My corals were ticked this past month and I did a large 150-200 gallon water change. I'm sure my levels went down but I can't say it was the aluminum that ticked off my corals. For all I know, it could be my Lithium concentration or something else.
7) I'm still happy to run the blocks and feel like they help with denitrification the way I have them in my sump. As recommended by the manufacturer, place them in slower flow for denitrification (reduction of nitrates) and faster flow for nitrification (conversion of ammonia/nitrite to nitrate).

I run heaps of it on my 300 gallon mixed reef.. No complains and my tank is doing great. I AM running gfo that might be helping with aluminum.

Here's an updated video of my tank I shot a couple days ago. I'm running just two of their large blocks in my sump in a low flow area.

I have read somewhere ... First seed the block in old existing tank and than shift to new tank after 2-3 week ...

Very interested to see how this plays out. I just ordered an 8x8x4 block for my 75g. I have a somewhat minimalist aquascape and feed heavy with 2 leopard wrasse and could use some more "filtration". My tank is a mixed reef but I have a lot of LPS, Ill keep the thread updated with any changes
