I really regret getting my equipment when I ordered the build. By the time the tank arrived 6 months later I wasn't able to return anything for refund which sucked as my return pump was broken.

And today's job, Apex & Controller mounting board.
Get the reactor up and running.
Get the doser installed.
Install D-D comb in sump.
Big clean and 60ltr water change.

Hopefully start dosing Triton Elements this week.

Not quite as neat once I got to work with a jigsaw!

It's been a while since I updated, so here we go.

Finally got a stock of CUC and my first few SPS frags.
Literally within 15 minutes the Jewel Puffer had a go at each and every one...straight in the sump and now back to the LFS.
I loved that fish, but not at the expense of everything else.
Replaced with 2 gorgeous Zebra Gobies.

Got my first 12 SPS frags mounted. A mix of acro, Monti and Hysterix...im useless at accurate ID and probably worse at photography. But here they are

I think a decent camera and some practice is needed!

Finally managed to get the doser up and running. So off we go running Triton.
Unfortunately I bought the elements back in January so it's not Core 7.

50ltr water change and clean out of the sump yesterday.
Even though filter socks aren't recommended for Triton as the detritus is beneficial for the algae, I just can't live with that much crap in the refugium. So 200 micron sock is on order. Will run that on the main down pipe and see if it makes a difference.

Calibrating the Kamoer 4 channel doser

Easier to weigh the water than measure. 1g = 1ml

Doser in and programmed. 7ml of each element over 24hrs for now.

You can see a rogue choc chip star fish on the left. Found it's way right through the sump!


Few more pics of the sump. Will definitely not get a sump that fills the cabinet next time

You could add some glass cleaning specialist snails to the centre section to help, I have at least 6 money / ring cowries in mine.

I got my first CUC only 2 weeks ago, no idea why it took me so long.
Going to triple the workforce next pay day as that sump really is in need of a CUC!
