I can't find any information anywhere, however in this video from Maxspect at the 1:00 mark, you see an app being able to connect to the controller

Unfortunately that video is the only thing I can find to support that thought. Nowhere else mentions being able to control the pumps through an app. Anybody have this controller that can verify this?

I would think they would advertise wireless capable if it were fact.

Let me know what you come up with. I would think it would be more known instead of me finding it on a video with no commentary. By the way, how you like the Gyre?

That's weird I just looked on the app store, the only maxspect control app I could find was for the ethereal lights.

That wifi functionality will require an ICV6 controller that comes with the Ethereals. It will basically allow you to control the pumps and the lights in the same app. The firmware update for this is not out yet.

Both 250 and 230. You need the icecap adapters.

Can I also use the controller that comes with the xf250 to mount on the wall as well as the icecap?

No it's either or. If you use the icecap adapter you can't use the advanced controller.

Do you like the gyre controller or controlling it through the apex better?
I don't have apex and am still researching controllers but am pretty sure Im getting a gyre.

I have the original controller. At the end of day all the controllers will do the thing.

Only reason I'd like to use the apex is for feeding...would it be possible to plug the gyre and controller into an outlet on the apex? Then during feeding, the apex could just power that assigned outlet off for 10 mins, then turn it back on? But I wonder if once the pump is back on, if it will go to the original setting it was on before being powered off...

When speaking with one of the Maxspect guys last summer, the next controller will have WiFi capabilities. The last/present new controller just has all the settings and one can run two gyres off one controller. :)

Would my idea work for now with the apex? Could it completey turn the powerhead off?

Yes, I do the same for my feed cycle and maintenance
