Maxspect Gyre controller wifi capable??

I opened up a ticket at Coralvue and here's what I heard back...

What firmware version is the ICV6 running? Make sure that it is running the latest version. Please also know that at this time, the manufacturer only released PARTIAL CONTROL on the gyres. This means that only the presets and manual mode work. The advanced/Auto mode where you create your own schedule is not available yet and wont be for another 4-6 weeks.

Issue for me is that when I open the Syna g app its not "finding" the gyre controller. Like previously I can still control my light with app. When you open the app on your device does your gyre show up? If so, what did you do? I have latest version on my ICV6 and updated the firmware on gyre controller through sd card slot.

I'm having the same problem you are- firmware is up to date but can't see Gyre in the app. I asked whether there is something else we need to do to make it visible and am awaiting a response.

Working with Carlos from customer support. Just sent him pics for verification of firmware on controller, icv6 and the app. This is not a user issue-definitely issue on their end. Will keep you posted.

Just figured out my issue. I'd mistakenly downloaded the 1.7 Gyre update instead of 2.0. Once I got 2.0 installed I could see the Gyre in the Syna-G devices list.

Guess I'm wrong. Lol. It was a user issue the firmware version I downloaded verdion1.7 was not correct. Sent me link for the 2.0 and now everything g is working properly. Carlos from customer service was excellent in responding. Let me know if it works for you now too

So I would also like to use this app? How do you perform the Firmware update?

You will need to download firmware onto sd card and then load into your gyre controller. Download the syna g app for your mobile device to control through the icv6.

I never noticed that there was a slot for an SD card? Any directions for install? Load files on card?? Settings??

OK so I upgraded firmware to 2.0 no problems. Now I start the app up. It states to hold power button for 5 seconds. When I do this it just shuts off??? What am I doing wrong??

FYI this is on a Grye 230 with 2 pumps attached and control unit... After upgrade it flashed 2.0....

Guys,
Can Someone please help me, I have the Gyre 230 with 2 pumps and Controller. I Upgraded to 2.0 via the Micro SD card. It confirmed at the end it was 2.0.
When I start the app I go through wifi, and it states to push power button on Gyre controller for 2 seconds to put into wifi mode. This doesn't work. It just powers it off...
Do I have the wrong controller?

Press the power on the ICV6, not the Gyre controller.

Feeling a tad lame here lol...
Do I have a icv6??? I have the 2 gyre 230 pumps in my tank and they are attached to a black controller. I don't have any Maxspect lights... Do I have the correct controller?????

The ICV6 is their hub, it works with the Maxspect gyre controller. If all you have is what came with the gyres, you do not have the ICV6.

$50 for you US guys.

Hello all, I am thinking about buying a maxspect gyre 230 with controller and a second 230 gyre. I take it that the ICV6 is a an optional.hub that makes the main controller controllable via an iPhone (in my case), is that correct? Does it do anything else?

For now it only allows basic, pre-programmed control of the 200 series gyres via the SynaG phone app. Maxspect is stated to be working on supporting custom profiles with the next gyre support update. Aside from that, it is a control center for some of their lighting units, and that dual output return pump.

Future connectivity options should include Apex 2016 support for the lighting portion, and is said to be coming to beta release soon. Most of us also assume since the gyres are becoming supported, that will eventually transfer to apex as an option, hopefully this year.

Thanks for the details. What has me thinking is that I saw randy@brs post a video where he was able to program his 160 tank with an apex so that 2 gyre’s work in a pattern of 90/10, 80,20, 70/30, 60/40, 50/50, 40/60, 30/70, 20/80, and 10/90%. Then the cycle reverses. I would like to do the same with my ghl controller. Just not sure what to buy to get that result using a ghl controller. Any idea?

That is using the Icecap gyre control modules, the only current way to interface a gyre with an Apex or another other controller that offers 0-10v ports.
