Merediths 75g upgrade

I'm gonnnnnaaaaa tell! :p

He'll find out on his own when it arrives. lol Well, if he decides to stop and count the corals in the frag tank ;) It took him 3 days to see the MP40 when I bought that so I'm betting on a week to never when he notices the corals. His fault... he didn't ask yesterday when he got home.

Tried for the rock nems and didn't get the one that I was after. I got another one and it's pretty, but it's not the one I dreamed about. lol

I got this one

I desperately wanted this one...

But alas, it was not meant to be. Next time I'll be ready for it and know exactly how to win. ;)

I have never seen or heard about rock nems eating any fish. It could in theory but odds are the fish was already dead or dying and made contact with the nem. It could conceivably eat a fish, but not a healthy one.

So the sale was a success?

I think so. It would have been better if I had gotten that pink rock nem, but really I can't complain. I got some great pieces! It was addictive and fun, but not something you can do while at work or just checking in for a minute. You have to have some time to dedicate to it.

Tank is looking good!

Cherry does some amazing sales - Im lucky to be "fairly" close to them (about a 2 hour drive, but they are near my parents - so its an excuse to drop by the shop) - you wont be disappointed with your picks - they look great. I have about a dozen rock nems, and they arent aggressive at all. If you are looking at rock nems, I suggest taking a look at Aqua SDs weekend sales - you can usually get some of them for around $15-30 for nice colored ones And I know Cherry has a few more rock nems on their website that you can still grab for 20% off to add to your cart if you find one you love!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not worried about the nems at all. I'm pretty excited about it! I unfortunately can't buy any more corals for a bit since I felt bad about going over the budget, I had to tell my husband how many I got and he wasn't happy at all. I'm in the "dog house" for now, so I'll just have to wait a while before I go shopping again. ;)

You got some really beautiful pieces! Can't wait to see them in your tank!

Thanks! me too... but they gotta go through the coral QT first. ;) No risks with my babies

Ah yes, of course!! I've never used a coral QT before, but will be setting up a 20L for the new tank we're putting together. It will be new and exciting!! :D:D

Awesome! A new tank is always fun, even a frag tank with no fish :D

So once you have shopping cart you try to be first to click on the coral your want? Is that how it works?

You have to create an account with cherry corals, then be on the thread at the time of the sale. They post pictures that are links to the website. You have to be the first to click the picture and pay for the item to get it. It's very fast paced and crazy! This is the only one I've done of course, so I dont know how the others operate their sales.

Thanks Meredith. I love what you choose. You can send them all my way and get out of dog house. Of course then I would be in trouble.

LOL. Yeah, my husband would prefer that, but it's ok. He's a pretty easy going guy and will forgive me soon. I just have to be careful about what I buy for the tank for a while.

I have the opportunity to purchase a used acrylic 180. It's reef ready and is the exact dimensions I'm looking for. It's a very long drive but for $150 it seems worth it. It would need buffing to get some scratches out, but I haven't seen it in person yet so I dont know how bad the scratches are. Should I go for it? Should I just wait and get the brand new glass tank? the glass one would be Aqueon so bare that in mind. I need help deciding!!

Ask to see the worst of the scratches, ask how deep they are and go from there. Buffing acrylic isn't hard if you know what your doing.
Wet sand, and you will have to go at it in stages (sandpaper) and finally 3000 grit will clear it up to where you can make it shiny again after buffing. I would start sanding with 600 grit due to the fact that it's acrylic.........you can always call "tanked" and ask them what they use[emoji12] I'm sure Brett or Wade could help you out.
Who was the tank made by?
