Merediths 75g upgrade

I ran across an article about this particular thing. They called it Elegance coral disease. Not very creative but it turns out this disease is contagious. So if you have one in your tank with it and you put a new, healthy one in the tank with it, it's very likely you'll lose both. So when your out shopping for corals and see a few elegance corals in the same tank as one that looks like these, dont buy any of them. Not sure what I did with the link to the study they did on it.
Is there anything that you can do for them? Or is it and wait game that you have to play? Sorry that happened, was really hoping they would open up by now.

I'm not sure. I didn't get a chance to finish the article and I can't find it again. I did a dip in Revive just in case (figured it couldn't hurt) and now I'm just wating. They are both under the frag rack with low flow and low light. I hope they come around, but if not I didn't really lose anything (money wise) in the process.

Meredith...you're always such a wealth of knowledge. Tanks looking good by the way!

Well hopefully they come back

Got my apex finally. Now, thr first thing yall should know is this is a USED unit. Its more than a few years old, but it works. Second thing is, I have no clue what im doing when i start pushing buttons.

I think i got two outlets programed for my lights. Not totally sure about that anf i wont be home tomorrow to make sure the lights come on at the right time...... soooo..... i guess we'll find out in a fay or two if I messed up. Lol still not sure how to make sure its programming a certain outlet. Eh oh well, i didnt pay much at all for it.

Sweet! That's awesome. How are you liking it?

Right now I'm super confused. I want to be able to delete everything on there and start fresh but I dont know how to do that. Everything I've found on the Apex is for the newer versions. This one is like 8 years old or something. I got it cheap to see if I could even operate it lol. I might get a new one if I decide I like it.

I thought I had the lights programmed, but when 8 oclock hit and the lights didn't turn off, I realized that I sat there for an hour for nothing. No clue what I did or how to get it to work. It sure is neat though! At least it will be when I figure it out.

Did that particular one come with a disc to load onto the computer and set all the settings and maybe a reset as well?

Nope... at least I wasn't given anything like that. I got several probes, though I think I need to replace the PH and ORP probes. The temp probe seems to work ok. I'm afraid I'll have to get my friend to come over and set it up for me. Not fun.

Well good luck with it all, be sure to let us know if you get it working properly. Tomoro is my first day back at work in 5 months from getting my hand smashed so I'm gonna pass out lol.

I will! Good luck tomorrow!!

As I recall that command has to be accessed via the built in web interface not through fusion. So depending on your home network you'll enter a web address like 192.168.1.20 etc. you can find the IP address through the display on the controller under net setup.

The forums on the Neptune site are very helpful and helped me a lot as I was setting mine up.

Whoa whoa whoa! .....huh? This unit is so old that I'm not sure what I would use to operate it from my computer (i looked at the apex website but the newest computer program doesn't seem to be compatible with the controllers that are over 5 years old). It would be much better if I could. I have to connect it to the internet with a Ethernet cable right? I'm about to go searching through the garage for one. You know what I need? A step by step guide, using small words and maybe simple pictures lol.
The built in web interface is the old way of using your computer to control it right? I'm totally guessing here since the "fusion" thing is for the newer versions of the apex.

That's what I was thinking when I said computer. Looks like your gonna have to get ahold of doc and his delorean and go back in time:D .......kidding. I'm sure you can get it and that it will work fine. Good luck!

You should still be able to log into your unit using the Classic interface, and once the unit has the latest firmware upgrade, you should be able to use Fusion as well. Use the directions in the thread below and you should be able to get into your unit once it is connected to your internet (via ethernet cable). Here you should be able to update your unit, as well as any modules that you have attached to it. Its so much easier than trying to access everything from the command module.
